He's never been a good 1 on 1 defender. He can't stay in front of his man. He's a better team defender. He's best with his hands in passing lanes. He takes charges well. But shutting someone down is not his speciality. The Lakers used guys like KCP and Avery Bradley for the tough stuff.

I've been watching him his entire career so I know his game inside and out.

He's not grading out well in perimeter defense this season according to Bball-Index:

The 11 regular season games I’ve watched him play for the Bulls show that he can play good 1 on 1 defense. Often on the primary ball handler and/or scorer (see defense on Harden). He’s a bull dog on defense. It’s his calling card.

Imagine calling Caruso a turnover prone defensive liability while hyping Reeves and his -4.6 bpm

Whats up with the Laker hate while reasonable Laker fans are telling you dopes what happened and how we still love Caruso? Lakers take tax implications pretty seriously.

Also... I want to punch the TV everytime I watch TurnoverBrook play.

But I digress.

Lakers did Caruso a favor by kicking him to the curb. He got his payday. Good for the kid. He shouldn't be taking a paycut to stay with a team that could still trade him etc. etc. etc.

This thread could also be labeled the Lakers gave Caruso what they believed to be a fair offer but another team was willing to offer more guaranteed money.

He's so hot and cold, I can see why they were hesitant.

Just so you know, Pennebaker is a Lebron Stan not a Laker fan so it’s in his best interest to downplay any teammate of Lebron to make him look better.

It’s extraordinary the lengths these guys go to on Internet forums to do this. Kind of sad really

Here's the other Lebron stan if you guys hadn't figured it out already.

We get it... everyone who plays with Lebron sucks.

As a Bulls fan, I have to say that Laker fans have been mostly great to interact with regarding the new players Chicago has. Its not just Caruso but Ball too.

Don't you love that you will never have to question a Lonzo Ball decision on offense or defense? We are glad hit shooting came around.

The Bulls went from one of the highest turnover teams in the NBA to one of the lowest. That's Demar (another Socal boy), Ball and Caruso. Its not just that though, the defense is really top notch and its based in just playing smart. There is no Gobert or anything out there. Just people making smart decisions.

Chicago isn't a tier 1 contender or something but after wandering in the wilderness for so long with only a few years of Rose and Thibodeau to enjoy, this team is fun to watch and follow. Its funny how many of the players have LA connections.
