Do people actually say "Pause"? Any links to someone saying it? I've never heard this in my life... Am I just old?
I’ve heard it a lot but never by a white guy

There are expectations of professionalism at the workplace that Cam Thomas failed to meet, so he was fined. Really not a shocker.

In what other workplace would a worker be fined money for saying "no homo". Serious question. Where do you guys work?

I work in a non profit in Philly. You could call it a "woke" workplace. And even in this setting, the worst that would happen would be someone pulling me (or whoever said it) aside and just letting them know it was insensitive a bit, and we would come to an understanding that I probably shouldn't say it again. I can't imagine someone in any other workplace being called to HR, and literally being "fined" for saying a no homo joke. Seriously what workplace would do this?

By the way - It is a lame joke, and I would never say it. But you shouldn't be fined for lame jokes or even insensitive/offensive jokes.

Its basically just hetero males getting it straight that they don't play for the other team after making a remark that could give gay men the wrong message. We don't want them getting the wrong message. Its just proper communication. Keep doing you, Mr Cam Thomas. The NBA should know better. But of course not.

The very vocal minority acting as killjoys for the rest of us due to their own insecurities. And sadly the league, trying to appease that group, falls for it.

but imagine comparing that to "the jews are responsible for slavery and the jews living in israel are not even real jews." kyrie's anti-semitism didn't start with that tweet about the movie, he's been leaning into it for a long time and is a demonstrable pattern of hate. cam thomas said something pretty much any 21-year-old would say.

the fact that you would compare them goes beyond typical pharmcat trolling and is just **** stupid and offensive. this whole thread is just ragebait and should've been locked on the first page.

Kyrie never said that tho

Saying you are not something does not equal being against that thing. Unless human language has changed.

If I say I’m not Black, is that anti black?

It’s just ludicrous. Does anybody know anybody, a gay person who is offended at “no homo” ?

It’s fake outrage and shame on the NBA for catering to it. Then people wonder why athletes sound like robots in interviews and have no personality.

But hey, players can tweet all they want about murder, degrading language in other ways, and who cares right. “No homo” is so much more damaging. SMH

So can you intelligently respond to anything I said instead of posting some random video?

Of course not.

Let me know what you disagree with.

I think 8 pages of realgm'rs talking about their thoughts on modern sexuality is probably enough for a Friday night.

Players have conduct clauses written into their contracts that allow for fines, most major entertainment contracts do. In contrast, most “normal” jobs do not (as you stated, it would be an HR problem or termination).
