With the way Wade has been playing offensively, I could see the Cavs being willing to try him in the rotation again. Possibly release him before the playoff roster deadline (March 1) if his shot doesn't look close to being back. That only gives him three games, though.

There's nothing really wrong with the way Wade is playing. The whole point of giving Wade all the playing time is that on top of the fact that he attracts attention at the perimeter, he's actually a really good, if not great, defender. He's always going to provide value regardless of whether or not he's knocking down shots. The same can't be said about Love.

Phoenix is currently dry on the bench and are a heavy favorite. I'd be more shocked if he didn't go there instead.

I would think they could tell in practice if his shot was back.

When is the latest a player can sign with a new team and be eligible to play in the playoffs?

If I'm Love, I'm taking my time and making my decision at the latest possible time.

Had the Nets stayed intact, that would be the most likely spot given he’s more a NY guy now than west coast guy. House in Tribeca and Hamptons.. Model wife based in NYC. Seems to be there way more than West. Wouldn’t shock me if he retires, but Phoenix sounds right if he doesn’t and wants another ring.

March 1 to be off of Cleveland's roster, but up till the end of the season to sign with a new team.

A player must be waived by March 1 to be playoff-eligible. As long as he's waived by Mar 1 he can sign up to the last day of the season and be eligible for the playoffs.

Okay, but a few other things fell apart for him too (stopped taking charges, for example, which really is most of his rim protection) that he needs to demonstrate at some level.

I'm just saying Wade isn't playing Love's 20-25 minutes a night. He's played 11, 6, and 9 minutes in the Cavs' last three games.

That’s a terrible idea. The ideal situation would be to get integrated as soon as possible into whatever team he goes to.

Lakers about to get loaded if they get Love, at least it's 2023 and not 2016 but still scary how much LA has improved in such a short time.

Unless some team buys out an all star, I does not appear that JBB has any intention of playing a backup big for 20-25 minutes a night, at least not for the rest of season. Absent injury or a 30 point lead, we're going to see one of Allen/Mobley on the floor at all times.

That's only because he just took minutes away from Wade three games ago, if you even describe Wade as a big.

He gave up playing RoLo half way through the season (which was fine), he removed Love from the rotation altogether, he severely cut Stevens minutes (again fine), and now Wade, who the front office just extended, is getting the Cedi treatment.

Love was good for 20 MPG off the bench, I ecen thought he'd get extended, if the reason for the drop off is indeed injury, he'd be a great pick up.
