That was a horrific display of coaching. Forget about the fact that he stubbornly sticks to man-to-man defence, and didn't bother teaching at least a basic zone when he went into the season knowing the team revolved around Edey.

I simply don't understand what he was asking his players to do against FDU's press tonight. Every time they would get across half and reset, giving FDU's defence time to recover and collapse in on the paint again, instead of taking advantage of having a man advantage or Edey sealed one-on-one once they got past the initial pressure. Just baffling.
Its easy to mention zone now but they dominanted all year not playing zone. They never needed it. Till right now. Trying to teach a team zone in a week aint gonna happen. I would have just started traping that guard on those pick and rolls.

I 1000% agree about attacking the press though. That made absolutely no sense. If this were a 7 game series that be the main adjustment.

This is a yearly thing for Painter though. It’s not just him lacking practicing any zone this year. Painter every single year enters the year with a game plan and he will make zero adjustments for the rest of the year. There is a reason why Painter may have the worst March resume in recent memory. His lack of any adjustments in game and throughout the year is shocking.

Purdue looked so damn good all year. The big 10 sucked but they were dominant. Wasting a generational big (college big) like that is criminal.

Reminds me to a lesser extent when Arizona lost against Buffalo a few years ago with Ayton….

I don't know if I'm in the minority or not, but Avery Johnson is just a really solid commentator. Not over the top or obnoxious, and really thoughtful in his analysis, really fun to listen to.

Honestly I like pretty much all of them. I also like the Villanova coach (not Wright, the one previous to him)

It’s all substance. No fluff.

Purdue has lost 3 times in a row to mediocre teams in the tournament. That's on the coach. Their poor shooting came back to haunt them once again.

Dukes path to the Elite 8 is shaping up to be better than anyone could’ve imagined. Scheyer going to win a Championship his first year coaching. Calling it now!

It's sad times in the Conference of Champions when ASU could be alive longer than Arizona and SC while Oregon misses out.

Second to last March Madness for the Pac, and this is the showing? It's disgusting man. Though, I am excited to see if a solid Western conference can come into existence. Say something like: Gonzaga, Washington, Boise St, BYU, Utah, Stanford, Oregon, ASU, UoA and DayGo St

Let Cal, Oregon St, Wazzou join the Big West or something where they can finally win more than five games

I’m less optimistic than you. I think U of A will join the big 12. I know you’re down in Tucson…I just don’t think it’s a good fit. I wouldn’t mind that type of west coast conference. Would be great for basketball but football will be a disaster and we would basically be a mid major in that respect. UCLA and USC should have never taken the money

Nah, I moved back to SoCal, but go back often.....and yeah, I think they do as well, and agree that LA schools shouldn't have made the move. They are going to regret it within a year. I thought that Colorado shouldn't have been invited, should've been BYU or even Boise St, and the media deals were just crap. The Pac is really dead

Football would be decent enough, not like the Pac is a killer. Basically replace USC with Boise and BYU. Would be absolutely dominant in hoops though imo.

This tournament sucks - definitely the worst one in recent memory. There have been upsets but overall there's been a ton of bad basketball as a whole through 2 full days of the 1st round.

Around here? Perhaps. In general? I doubt it. Seen a lot of people commenting about the terrible ball and decisions from teams so far in this tourney. More than what you would usually see.

Also this is by far the weakest class of top teams in the last 10-15 years I'd say. Definitely feels like the seedings are a little more inaccurate this year as well in terms of teams being under and over-seeded.
