Because other than Houston, no other team he would conceivably want to go to has cap space. The only way for him to get to the Clippers or Knicks or Suns is to opt in and get traded.

Mann and Maxey are friends, summer training partners. I’m gonna laugh when Mann kills it in Philly. Mann as a starter or 6th man is very capable of 15/7/4 type numbers with good defense and elite efficiency at the rim+corner 3.

He’s in that Iguodala archetype. Willing to play 1-4 on both ends. Only 6’5 but physical, hustle player. He’s a monster in the offensive glass. Finds the ball, pokes the ball free in the passing lanes. Underrated playmaker. He’s #4 in the NBA in rim scoring efficiency and a 39% shooter from deep with a deadly corner 3.

I think Morey will go for a full rebuild. Embiid cannot play any better than this and his supporting cast will continue to get worse
