It's crazy that even w all the hype he had coming in, he's exceeded pretty much everyone's prediction in this thread in one way or another, and most of them he exceeded across the board.
This might be the best rookie season I've seen ()_()

I was off on the rebounds (I figured Collins would be starting next to him) but I was pretty damn close

Come back to me with your excuses when I'm closer than anyone else at the end of the season.

You really think he will be on court enough to even break Robinson's Spurs record 4.5 per game, let alone Mark Eaton's NBA record 5.5?

You are in for some disappointment.

Great reverse jinx there my friend. :)

Shooting numbers less pretty around 46/31/80

We had this exact thread months before, I said my unreasonable expectation was always 3+ blocks per game, lets go, his shooting will be up and down.

You were very close on the averages, but pretty perfect on the shooting percentages!!

Ya, it’s insane these box scores he’s dropping. I just read that he’s had 5 or more blocks 22 times this season! :o

I feel like anyone else who is a rookie dropping 40/20 or getting 9 blocks in one game would surely get their own thread, but it’s starting to get to the point where it just doesn’t surprise us anymore.

This is easily the best rookie season we’ve seen in a very long time. It’s putting LeBron James rookie season to shame, and that was a guy who doubled Cleveland’s win total. The biggest thing is that Victor is staying healthy, and while he still has a long way to go as a player to reach his status (and that’s understating it quite a bit), what he’s been able to do as a player gives fans every reason to be excited. This kid is special, basketball gods you better keep him healthy.

FG% and TS% is naturally super low for any rookie. You can easily add 10% on average to their prime shooting. Just take a look at lebron's

Anybody here thinking that he's going to average 2+ assists is kidding themselves and hasn't watched him play.

I think it's more likely that he simply alters a billion shots rather than stack massive block numbers. It's incredibly difficult to rack up high block numbers in the fast-paced, perimeter oriented game of today without fouling; I don't think Pop lets him play like that. Maybe he hits 2.5 blocks.

Only on the first page but LOL

I'm pretty sure we all took the under but people who think they had it all figured out are funny.

So you and a few others have him averaging all nba 2nd team numbers.

No chance in hell.

If he plays 60+ games and 30 minutes per game you’d call that miracle territory on its own.

Some of you guys
1. Need to remember he is 19.
2. Open your eyes and see he is not currently fit enough to play his style more than 10 minutes straight, let alone last a full game, a full season.
3. Stop thinking preseason highlights mean anything. You really think guys are going to be as stupid as Wiggins with his shot attempts and to try anything within range of a guy with an 8 foot wingspan?
4. I took into consideration fitness, foul trouble, minor injuries the Spurs won’t think twice about risking.

You guys have him winning 3 rings and 3 mvps in his first 5 years.

Come back to me when the season ends and see how your ridiculous expectations fared.

I can see everyone’s excuses now:

‘Oh I didn’t take foul trouble, fitness and injuries into the equation’

Oof LOL.

Leggoman was right on the money, only Wemby has been even a bit better than even he predicted.

Exactly. It was the main concern.
Many people thought he was too skinny for the NBA.

Let's hope he can stay healthy his whole career, but he is doing everything for it (yoga, among other things)

I had a text with friends and got really close as well! Great minds
:o LeBron is 0-7 in game winning/tying FGs in the finals. And is 20/116 or 17% in game winning/tying FGs in the 4th/OT for his career. That's historically bad :o
