There just aren’t that many players that are both elite and consistent in RS and PS right now

Jokic is the best at both
Giannis is top at both but has some underwhelming series
Embiid sucks in the playoffs
Butler isn’t a top 8 regular season guy
Curry has only been on one great team the last 5 years
Luka missed playoffs last year
LeBron hasn’t been on a top tier team in 4 years
Etc

It’s not like 2016 where LeBron, Curry, KD we’re the obvious top 3

Right now it’s Jokic, then Giannis by default at 2. After - who knows ?

Tatum hasn't truly suffered in the NBA. The majority or guys need that to be able to get over the hump....I think as soon as he does hell get what he wants...or maybe I should say if he does

Every single player has those games - especially guys who shoot 3’s at volume. Tell me you’re fav player and I’ll show you plenty of those types of playoff games from them. Heck, Jimmy Butler averaged 14 points a game on 29% in a first round series only 2 seasons ago yet he has this “playoff Jimmy” mantra which is absolute BS.

Even Jokic who is one of the most efficient players we’ve ever seen, went 8-29 in a playoff game last season.

True but he those performance in big moments
He hasnt had a good/legendary playoff run. If anything its been okay/slighy below average

Hasn’t performed in the big moments?

He literally has the most points in a game 7 in NBA history.

He has one of the best elimination road wins in NBA history by beating the defending champs with 46/9/4 on Giannis.

He won Eastern Conference MVP and lead his team to the finals at just 24 years old!

Come on “been ok / slightly average”… what world are you living in? There’s this absolute weird narrative that Tatum has against him and it doesn’t make any sense.

He’s the same age as SGA and has done so much more yet gets so much hate. It’s actually mind boggling.

You should be confident in yourself. But with that said, he's probably in the 11-15 range.

Devin Booker was all-NBA first team also. Was he a top 5 player?
Steph Curry was the MVP twice. Was he the best player in either of those two seasons?

You’re trying to argue that a ALL NBA first teamer is potentially the 15th best player in the league. You’re devaluing the voting greatly. So your questions should be.

In 21-22, was Booker the 15th best player? I’m saying he was 5th - 8th.

Curry was in the argument for best player in his MVP seasons. Only Lebron really had the argument over him. You might be able to argue Harden but it’s an argument you wouldn’t win.

Tatum is in that 4 - 8 range comfortably. Putting him in 11-15 is just being a troll. Go and name me 14 better players than him.

This is a good post. Yes, so right only 2 or 3 players can lay that claim, but it's definitely not Tatum.

Tatum at best is the 7-10th best player in the league. In no world is he better than the other players I've listed in my top 7.

He’s been far and away better than Embiid in the postseason.

If Embiid is so good and Tatum isn’t…Why does Tatum outplay him in the playoffs? Why can’t Embiid beat him with Harden and Maxey?

You keep saying how bad Tatum is and how Brown has no left hand and is overpaid yet your MVP sweetheart can’t beat them? Why is that?

I didn't say that. You said, "In no world is he better than the other players I've listed in my top 7." He's very clearly better than Embiid, and it hasn't been close when you look at their postseason performances.

Because you have horrible takes - just look at how many sigs you’re in. Like honestly, I don’t know why I even bother with you.

Why didn’t you make this thread when Ant said he was the best player in the world literally 4 days ago?

He's been better in the playoffs and much worse for a higher number of regular season games. And by better, it's only offensively. Defensively Embiid is one of the best in the league in the playoffs and regular season.

So offensively and defensively Embiid is better in the regular season. Offensively in the playoffs Tatum has been better. Defensively Embiid.

I'm not sure how you can say that Tatum is a better player lol. Because he beat him in the playoffs? By that take are Curry, Booker and Dame better players than Jokic? They beat him in the playoffs.

You wanna go by playoff history for Embiid. He's been injured in the majority of seasons, so again not sure why you can not take that into account.

Worst coach in Doc Rivers.

Mental midgets in Harden and Ben Simmons.

Tatum comes up big at times in the playoffs, but he has always had a far better supporting cast. This season you can argue the Celtics are a super team.
