Not so sure I buy it, not many teams are able to even trade for him

I don't think it will work but his behavior is intelligible. He's been as aggressive in pursuing his interest as the Sixers were during the peak Hinkie years. Hinkie and the Sixers didn't care at all how the other league stakeholders felt they were gunning for top picks. That's Butler and this contract.

it's intelligible but it's stupid.

I don't think it will work but I think he's operating on the "one moron" theory. He and his agent is just banking some GM will be his personal nico

maybe but I think he's really damaged his career, he may have been able to find one moron but by going about it like this, he's essentially made sure no sane GM or owner would want to be anywhere near this toxicity and level trouble making. nobdy wants a 37 years old lockeroom cancer on a max contract

well...except Ishbia, he's crazy

If he ops out of his player option then he needs to get signed into cap space into to get his next contract which would limit the size of it and limits the places he can go

Bradley Beal isn’t willing to waive his no trade clause. There’s no trade for him to Phoenix.

I don’t know what GM looks at this situation and wants to/is able to trade for Butler and give him a max extension. He’s 35, 2017 was the last year he played 65 or more games for a team, he didn’t play in any playoff games last year, and he’s pulling this trade demand.

Who gives a flaccid fiddler about Jimmy Butler anymore? he burned every bridge he's crossed at this point. Only a fool would trade anything for him at this point.

All of his behavior this season really should be grounds for voiding his contract, and it's a shame it's not.

Wont show up on time, leaves practice, wont actually play when he's on the court, killing trades to numerous teams

And how exactly are they holding him hostage? What should they have done?

I expect Jimmy Butler to be with the San Antonio Spurs very soon.

If I'm the Heat I'm simply taking the best trade offer provided to me. If Jimmy doesn't like his new team then he can choose not to report and simply not get paid. The Heat don't owe him any favors now after the way he's acted recently.

This is a bit too simplistic. The team giving assets for Jimmy are going to want him to actually want to be there, which he most likely will not.

Every party is basically stuck in this situation which is why it’s been a standstill. I actually dig the Heat just not really doing anything with it. They can’t really trade him to where he wants to go, so **** it
