Still seems very close in terms of who actually most valuable player this year.

Should be SGA, and in my mind its not really that close either.

For those who rely heavily on advanced stats to decide who the mvp is, its basically even. Wins matter, and the thunder laps Denver in that regard. If wins didn't matter at all there should be some discussions about some of the former mvp awards. The offensive workload of SGA isn't noticeably less than Jokic', but Jokic has taken the year off on defense.

Its Jokic all day everyday. SGA is a foul baiting FT merchant on par with prime Harden.

SGA with 48 4 and 6 plus 3 steals and a block to win a road game against a playoff team without his 2nd or 3rd best teammate playing. Dude's been unreal this season this race is just about wrapped

Being a FT merchant is actually an argument for him.

That was one of the best games of Shai's career.

Severely undermanned and he absolutely cooked a pretty good defensive playoff team. Contributing both ends of the court as well, as is expected of Shai these days.

Yeah, as a Jokic stan, it's hard to argue against Shai at this point. The Thunder are gonna win 65+ games with an all-time net rating while missing his 2nd option most of the year. Shai has also showed up and dominated in all the big-matchups the Thunder had against other contenders. Jokic and the Nuggets have had too many stinkers on national TV against the best competition.

Jokic is making wizards rookie Sarr, who somehow shoots just 47% on layups, look like peak hakeem out there.

Not ideal.

This is just untrue. He killed your team down the stretch with no fts. Finished a layup in traffic that should have been a foul call but wasn't. No problem. Bucket.

He had thj slippin and sliding , touchin the floor with both hands while trying to guard him. Just be grateful he isn't in the same conference.

Basically if you don’t give the MVP to Shai this year you may as well just rename the MVP the Nikola Jokic award.

There is almost nothing humanly possible more for SGA to do to make his case. Meanwhile, Jokic disrespects the game on a nightly basis with his lax defense.

Robbing SGA of this year’s MVP would be a travesty.

Data exposes them really fast. He isn’t Harden at all. He’s a paint player/driver who isn’t a high volume 3 guy. Of course when you’re 185 lbs and initiate a lot of contact you’ll get calls. But he is only averaging what 9 FT?

Nothing historic or rare for his drive rate, shot attempts, shot chart etc.

What’s more is OKC is among the worst in the league for FT rate, FT differential etc yet all we hear every **** game is crying about FT’s or fouls from OKC.

These refs doing pressers crying about FT from OKC every game is pathetic. Sure, there is a couple bad calls a game.. but 10 FT on 17/26 shooting or whatever for a high paint volume guy isn’t unusual at all.

Lost at home to the Wizards, but let me guess, it was all Jokic's teammates fault.

The MVP just got swept by the Wizards and should’ve in all honestly lost to the Lakers G league team yesterday

This shouldn’t even be a debate anymore

Jokic fanboys won't listen. They think that wins and losses are irrelevant and that the game is all about STATS.
