Luka needs to get in better shape. Right now I'd take SGA.
BAF Clippers: Great Team. No Future.

SG: Big Ragu | Podz
SF: Kuminga | Thybulle

Alright so far..

Image

Poll A (created w thread for 30 minutes):
SGA - 3
Luka - 6

Then later due to popular demand poll was added 8 hours later

Poll B (10 hours - still ongoing):
SGA - 50
Luka - 49

No bias here.

SGA without the soft whistle would suck like he did for team Canada in the Olympics.

SGA is better defensively and within the midrange game and drawing contact, getting to the line. Luka is more explosive offensively and his passing, vision is goat level. I voted Luka but its close, both are top 4 players in the league. I think Luka is more of a generational level player.

if you gave Luka this OKC roster they'd be sweeping everyone. SGA is an incredible player, but he's got the best coach in the NBA and the best roster around him too. That's not his fault. SGA is the better defender clearly, but as far as offensive players go, Luka is the best in the world.
One day Marcus Smart will be defensive player of the year, mark my words.

SGA is the third best player behind Giannis and Jokic. Luka is fourth

this is obvious - one is the MVP and there other isn't....

luka may have more talent BUT SGA is nearly as talented and has infinitely more work ethic ......and work ethic beats near talent...

for all the people saying SGA had a better team than LUKA when they played in the playoffs....

but when the Mavs played OKC here are Lukas stats-

Luka vs OKC in playoffs- Series Averages: 24.7 PPG, 10.5 RPG, 8.7 APG over 6 games
SGA vs Mavs in playoffs averaged 32.2 points, 8.0 rebounds, and 7.3 assists per game, with shooting splits of 50.7% from the field, 55.0% from three-point range, and 83.3% from the free-throw line.

Player PTS REB AST FG% 3P% FT%
Luka 24.7 10.5 8.7 42.7% 25.5% 94.4%
SGA 32.2 8.0 7.3 50.7% 55.0% 83.3%

so luka wins the series vs SGA but SGA outplays Luka head up...... you guys say SGA had a better team.... hmmmm COPE

I agree, I don’t really see a good case for Luka tbh. SGA is a good defender, Luka is a traffic cone. And there’s really no evidence that Luka is significantly better offensively.

SGA winning an MVP before Luka (is Luka EVER going to win an MVP?) is as much an embarrassment for Luka as it is an accomplishment for SGA. Luka has been crowned as the next great generational player for years now, and has exactly 0 hardware to show for it.

Well, that logic would work out perfectly if SGA was playing with a team of robots, and Luka was playing with a team of the exact same robots. But since they each have different players around them, you can't just compare their head-to-head stats like that. At the end of the day it's a team game, and certain teams defend better than other teams.

people that love luka are on full COPE mode and can't accept that Luka appears to care less about being great than his fans care about him being great.

Zion is the only person nearly as talented as Luka and we kill Zion for not fulfilling his potential....why are you guys not questioning how the 11th pick in the draft that played at Kentucky (so 10 teams had plenty of intel on SGA and passed on him) - so what does that tell you !

so if SGA makes the finals and wins it's pretty much undeniable, right?

Has Tatum won the regular season MVP and the finals MVP (presumably in this scenario), while being from the same draft class, and having better statistical season than any of Luka's so far?

Ok so when they played heads up SGA outplayed Luka...period...you agree- the excuse was Luka was hurt in those playoffs...

Lukas team BEAT SGAs team in spite of SGA outplaying Luka. these are facts...I gave you the numbers...it's plan and simple.

SGA has an MVP...period...SGA and Luka have both won scoring title.

I do think pure talent... luka is the most talented player in the world.....

but honestly Luka isn't even trying to be the best if he isn't training in the offseason....and it shows.

Fair enough, but you also can't discount that SGA has a much better supporting cast than Luka has ever had.
