Myles defense is excellent. His post defense is his weak point..

He is good rim protector and a solid defender in space.

At least try to not be a homer.

Eh. disagree. He's a good defender, not excellent. Excellent isn't a word I'd use for Turner.

Now you walk your statement back

Turner's impact isn't all that great. He isn't a post player. He isn't paint protector. Yes he's a stretch 5. That's his only value.

Pascal doesn't have the same conditioning he usually does. But he is getting older, so his trainers may have him on a slower ramp up for the long season.

3rd straight isolation against Chet, but it went in, so I can't complain.

Ugh another OT game? I guess OKCs point differential is not going to be double digits this season.

SGA looked Dort off. Understandable, considering how he's shot the ball, but it's bad coaching to even have him in the game for one offensive possession.

6 seconds to work with. And instead of driving to the bucket he settles for a Terrible look at a highly contested 3?

OKC will get every team's best shot, the OT games will wear them down, they'll end up a 7th seed, Fam

He is a paint protector, though. He provides a rare combination of rim protection and 3-point shooting that is pretty important for a team. We're obviously missing him tonight as we haven't gotten a lot out of our Centers.

I dunno I mean he's a big body under the bucket and he takes up space so in that sense he's a paint protector. He's rare because he shoots 3s as a 7 footer. He's that stretch center and that's why Bucks signed him.

I think the role of stretch center the way Turner plays can be filled by a shorter guy - a PF who shoots 3, thus forcing the defending center to come out to the perimeter. That's why I wasn't as fussed about Turner, even though yeah Pacers have a chemistry with him. If Pascal's a better 3 point shooter, you can have 2 PFs on the floor at the same time.

I miss Ibaka and Gasols on my team. Opens up the floor so much.

edit - oh look that's what Pacers are doing right now at end of 4th, playing Topping and Pascal at the same time, Pascal as center.

These are two different issues now:

1) Yes, Siakam plus Toppin can work. It worked for us a lot of times last year. It worked really well against New York's big lineup as we were just able to out-run them with Siakam+Toppin and it worked in the Finals as well. It does have its weaknesses as a lineup as neither Siakam nor Toppin are rim protectors but you just gotta make the calculation whether the good it offers (speed, offensive versatility, perimeter shooting) outweights the bad.

2) Turner isn't just a big body. He is a legitimate rim protector that has protected the rim throughout his career. He really is a 3&D Center. And he will be missed. I don't like that the team opted to go that direction but what's done is done.
