There is a reason why there is Coach of the Year.
That is my gripe, some good teams, like Detroit, Phoenix, are good collective units, but they necessarily don't have a MVP of the league on their team, they are just good collective units, but they don't have MVP's.

Marion's efficiency came a lot of his defense, his rebounding, steals, every stat combined.
I don't think Nash is helphing him do that. Is also the pace that helped all this guys, that it goes back to D'Antoni. Thus getting coach of the year.

I would give Nash Mrs Congeniality award,(if it existed) if it makes you happy, or most improved. MVP is just really the cream of the crop. Guys that are just great.

Look, reality is, you not going to change my mind. I saw Nash play, never bought the hype when he was getting his awards.

But through history, he seems to be the exception. That is why he probably brought the fact he hasn't won a title, he knows every two time MVP has played in a finals besides him and won too a title to add . Most be really eating at him.

If it's simply the most valuable player in the league--the player who is more valuable to their specific team in a specific season, then what the f**k difference does it make what happened in Dallas? Or his other career accomplishments? Or the playoffs?

The only thing relevant to this is whether, in a given season, Nash was the league's most valuable player to his team--not how unvaluable you think he was to Dallas, not what happens in the playoffs before or after that, or whether he is ever in the finals. All of that is completely irrelevant to the point. If you want to use that to argue about where Nash belongs on an all time list, fine. But using it to argue about whether he deserved a regular season award is completely and utterly missing the point.

And it's too bad that you say I can't change your mind, because then why are you even on a forum, if you're not going to open up to other ideas?

The Suns simply aren't comparable to the Pistons. The Pistons weren't reliant on anybody the way Phoenix was reliant on Nash. Their entire offensive system relied on his skills more than anybody on Detroit. Everything was run through him. It's just not at all comparable.

And Marion's offensive efficiency came from Nash--that's my point. Also, any stat that uses steals to quantify anything is pretty ridiculous. Some guys that get a lot of steals are good defenders. A lot of them aren't.

And no, D' Antoni didn't get COY because they played at a fast pace and had nice stats. He got COY because his team won 62 games after having won 29 games the year before. What was wrong about that (IMO) was that he was also the coach for most of the previous season. The only big difference in the team between the two years was Nash.

And sure, given your parameters, he is the exception to other MVP winners. That certainly doesn't make him undeserving.
