These scum bags got insider trading, dumped millions of their stock, then went on national and local tv and told the sheep that voted for them that it was all fake news.

What new information did they get? I keep asking this because that is the key question. Again--it was public knowledge that there was a serious virus in China by that point.

Exactly. This isn't insider trading at all. They may get some sort of punishment but it won't be insider trading.

Many people were taking their Superannuation (I think it's called 401k in USA?) and taking it out of the share market before 2020 even started. Many predicted a recession later this year, this just fueled it.

tucker is a weird dude. hes anti war, but then he goes on these crazy view points

but even conservatives are seeing how ridiculous this is, so I am glad that dems and republicans can still agree on whats wrong at some level

Don’t ever let Tucker fool you. He whole heartedly sucks up to Trump who is profiting off the Presidency and I wouldn’t be surprised if he somehow tried to profit off the pandemic. Fox News doesn’t mind sacrificing Republicans every now and again and Burr’s example was simply too blatant to spin.

Only 7 Players in NBA history have 21,000 points, 5,750 assists and 5,750 rebounds. LeBron has double those numbers.

CNN says that Burr received no briefing on the virus in the week leading up to his stock sale. CNN also said there is no evidence of any insider trading. Before we all rush to call for his head, we need more facts.

Politicians who are shown to have taken the info. they received from the intel meetings early on in this and used that for their financial advantage while publicly downplaying the health risk should be absolutely railroaded. Torn the **** apart. That is just about as bad as it gets as a public servant. Personal profit at the expense of the lives of Americans.

Every Democrat and Republican should agree. Whoever it is. No excuse.

No idea - and Cuomo (unlike DeBlasio) has been pretty excellent so far during this crisis

Not if he is failing at the most important part. Begging for supplies in front of the cameras is easy. He needs to make the difficult, but necessary, decision here.

Again, what information did they receive? Simply buying and selling stocks based on the publicly known information is not a crime. Everyone is jumping way too far ahead on an extremely limited amount of information.

But he came out and publicly said that America was in fact extremely well prepared to take on the virus. When he found out the opposite, he sold everything and didnt say anything to rebuke his earlier statement.

I'm not sure if its a crime, but its ridiculously unethical, and the people's ire is 100% warranted.

CNN is reporting that he did not receive any briefing on the coronavirus in the week leading up to his sale. Are you saying their information is inaccurate? Or are you jumping ahead on this story without having all the information?

I qualified my comment by stating that any politician who is shown to have used this insider knowledge for their own personal financial gain while downplaying the risk to their constituents should be punished. That has not been established at this point.

If it legally can be established/proven... then **** them.

I'm not talking about a briefing. Im talking about his public comments on the matter and his actions. I even said i dont know if it's illegal. It damn sure it is horribly unethical though. As an elected official and leader, at a time of crisis, you're saying everythings fine while you sell it all off....ya, thats pretty dickish.

Nvm, so this is basically the California lockdown: https://corona-virus.la/faq

Seems like they're just telling everyone to take it more seriously
