No they won't. Both teams are bad matchups for Pacers. Besides, you're too eager to call the series off.

The wcfinalists aren't necessarily bad matchups. Indy split with both of them and moreover Ibaka is out and parker is a bit gimpy.

Pacers beating OKC without Ibaka is possible but the Spurs? I wouldn't even bother watching the series.

If the pacers were to beat the heat western conference team will be licking their chops to get that ring with the minor obstacle of the pacers in the way. Miami poses such a bigger problem for the west than the pacers do.

Are we really talking about how Indy will do in the finals?

Haha, anyways, for the people saying Miami played without urgency, I don't think that's true. Both LeBron and Wade had stellar shooting games. Bosh's 3 pointers didn't go down, sure, so I see Miami doing more from 3 next game, but that'll probably be at the expense of Wade not going 12/18 again. I think Mia is in trouble. Normally when they lose Game 1 it's because of a lack of urgency or a fluke by the other team. I don't see Indy letting up at all, they might even play harder in Game 2.

Talk about overreactions. People are already discussing a Pacers' Finals after a game 1 win. Let's save those for until one of the teams is on the verge of elimination.

Yeah. Frankly, the way the Pacers have been...I wouldn't be comfortable with a 3-0 lead. When they win 4 I'll be happy.

Yup, I predict that before the series started. Overreactions would galore after game 1.

You would think people would learn after these playoffs. This is going to be a long 6-7 game series where hopefully the Heat win 8-).

Free throw disparity was definitely the biggest difference in game 1 so I wouldn't say Miami is in trouble.

That's a really silly statement.

1. Miami IMO is still the favorite in the ECF. Game 1 doesn't change that.

2. Spurs would absolutely destroy the Pacers (just a horrible matchup for us), and while we could be more competitive against the Thunder, we'd still clearly be the underdog.

Anyway any such talk is premature, because the Heat are coming back hard in Game 2. I just hope the Pacers are ready for them.

You need to understand the bigger picture impact of open looks at 3s going down. It creates the spacing that allows everything on offense to open up.

Wade's points were basically all organically created by Wade, and tough shots. Maybe he won't score as much, but if the 3 is dropping, everyone else has an easier time doing everything else.

The best example of this was the 3s dropping early for Indy and the balanced scoring that followed. Why do you think everyone was successfully scoring for Indy? Miami was stretched thin by the palpable 3-point threat

Also, shots going down is rarely an indicator of urgency. The bulls play the entire regular season with a greater urgency than anyone else. Does that translate to a higher rate of shots dropping? No, it manifests in effectively executed defense, with minimal assignments blown and max effort in getting 50-50 balls.

Miami's defense was very lackluster yesterday, and that wasn't all due to the pacers

Indiana needs to win game 2. Heat accomplished everything they want if they split here and will have a big upperhand at home. Indy went 0-2 at Miami in the reg season, and Miami is unbeaten at home in the playoffs. 1-1 would more than likely turn into 3-1 Miami. The Heat have never trailed 2-0 in the big 3 era. Indy should be treating game 2 as a must win IMO.

It's basically in every series the same that the winner of game 1 easily wins the series, especially if the win is as convincing as this one.

That said, the Heat better win Game 2 or it will be extremely tough to get back into the series. They have fallen behind a couple of times but never 2 games except the 2011 Finals and we know how that ended.

The Pacers are pumped up to play their rival, Heat better play in "Game 7 mode" to match Indys intensity or Game 2 will go the same way.

But just in these playoffs we saw Clips easily win game 1 and lose the series. Miami lost to Chicago in 2011 and lost that game convincingly. Pacers played well, full credit to them but it's only the first game.
