I love the Summer League geniuses.....lol

This is like glorified garbage time. You can't hardly gauge anything from these games.

But they do it year after year after year....makes them feel good. Realgm is the only place where a 19-20 yr old Career can be determined after 1-2 games.

You can see if guys have dribble.....how's their jump shots...do they box out.....do they actively look to pass, or do they pound the ball to much. Can they stay in front of guys. Are they quick off their feet. Do they rebound outside their area.....All that stuff and other things as well.

But depending how the garbage game goes, you may or may not have an opportunity to do this things in that particular game.

So making these broad proclamations is crazy.

I still can't figure out why Smith Jr. fell. Doesn't take much scouting experience to recognize his talent.

Can't shoot, bad defender, game relies primarily on athleticism and already has an ACL tear on his record.

Read the 70+ pages. Guys are being called busts. Guys are not deserving of the top 20 even if they were picked in the top ten......so and so can't shoot. So and so will never make it in the league. Stuff like that.

When you are deciding if a guy is worthy of playing in the league based on summer league games, then I think it's a bit misguided.

I think DSJ could have the best rookie year out of all the PGs

Guys are making those proclamations based on what they've seen dude this is a message board not a professional scouting site. If u are looking for quality objective insight you're in the wrong place

He shot 36% from 3 his freshman year in college. He has a solid shooting form as well, also hit 3-5 from 3 today, I dont see how you can say he cant shoot. Defensively he has more of a pitbull attitude on defense than Fultz or Lonzo. He showed times last year when he wanted to he could defend. Not saying hes going to ever be considered a great defender, but I dont think hes going to be horrible on that side of the ball and some of the best PGs today arent good defenders.

He is a freak athletic PG that is excellent at running the PnR whether it is looking to score or to facilitate and he has great promise when it comes to his jumper as well and its not bad to begin with. That kind of sounds like the ideal PG in todays game. At the start of the year I had him and Tatum at the top of my big board and after the season I had DSJ at the top because I feel like his game screams NBA star.

I've been on this site since 2005...I might have an idea what goes on around here lol.

There is plenty of objective insight at REALGM, you just have to wade through the stupid.

So much hyperbole in this statement it isn't even funny. He's shooting badly. He's still averaging 16.5/8.5 in SL.

Celtic fans have so much hate for Josh Jackson, it's unreal. Dude can't shoot after two SL games but is still filling the stat sheet. We will see what Tatum does when he has to defer to IT when the real season starts......

SL is for ball dominat scorers......duh!

in all fairness I never liked josh jackson, I think tatum will be the better player. But remember that Josh Jackson will be a starter, tatum will be coming of the bench behind hayward.

I think hes going to have the best rookie year out of all the rookies. I dont think Philly, LA or Sac are going to regret their choices for PG because I think all 3 of their players are going to be good. I dont know much about Frank but I have a feeling NY is going to really regret passing on DSJ.

It was a really stupid choice of the knicks. You dont pick someone unproven from europe who hasn't worked out with any teams when you have a high caliber player in smith there. You do it if smith wasnt there then I would understand like how the knicks took a chance o n kp. AFTER kp there wasnt anyone that wowed and had potential.

The thing to really get excited about DSJ is the dude won ACC FOY over guys like Tatum and Isaac and this was his first year back from his ACL. Him in SL already looks like a completely different player athletically then his first month at NCST. Again I personally had him #1 on my big board, the dude just screams star. A KP/DSJ duo to build around would be one hell of a good building block for NY. I hate it for Knicks fans, but I think this one is going to hurt.

Jaylen Brown reminds me of Jeff Green, I dont know if that's a good thing.
