Can't lie, I didn't feel too good about tonight's win. I think the Pacers were really creative with their defenses, and forced us to play their game. We had some really silly turnovers. From the Knicks end, I'm expecting more and hoping for more. I don't know how the Pacers did it, but both teams shot really well from the field, and somehow, it felt like a dogfight. We were basically in catch-up the whole time and basically used our whole starting lineup for the whole game. Pacers were relentless.
I think if the Pacers keep doing what they're doing, they're going to take some wins off the Knicks. It's a best out of 7 series -- there's gonna be times when Knicks fans complain a ton, too. I remember the Knicks having to deal with Embiid and the refs in Game 3...that felt rigged as eff. However, if your team is better, it's gonna get through in the end, just like the Knicks were able to beat Philly at home twice more on the road after that disaster of a game. Not too much consolation but Pacers fans should be encouraged. If the Knicks keep losing on the boards and making bad turnovers and playing bad defense and making McConnell look like a superstar PG, I don't expect the results to be as good. I'm expecting and hoping that the Knicks can play their game in G2.
I also don't want to take too much from the Knicks, too. OG was pretty impactful as a defender. The Villanova 3 scored 90 points and you guys made them look awesome...they really didn't look that good in Philly. After that series, I had no idea the Knicks could drive into the paint. Hart shot 40% from the field in Philly, 43% from three, which means he was really bad from 2. DDV was at 36% from the field in Philly. Some credit really needs to go to Brunson. Some of his shots were jawdropping and caused me to panic until they went in. I still think we need to play much better though.
