They lost to Germany lol

Germany has maybe the best coach in the world and the most chemistry of any team, they could beat the US.

Shooting from half court after doing a pirouette while egging the crowd on, airballing it and laughing is villainy.

Maybe it's just me but the one guy being a dick and embracing hate is a lot more interesting and funny than all the cookie cutter no personality guys.

You're not wrong I'm just saying that in that moment the true heel heat would have come from sinking that shot. Entire countrys would have never forgiven him.

I feel like we're 1 game away from him doing the DX chop to the crowd and sparking an international incident and all it would take is 2 consecutive shots. Real heels have short memories on their failures, he's played like trash for the most part and is still going at the crowd. I know Triple H is proud of him.

I was a local scene heel wrestling manager for about 18 months around 2000-2001 for a buddy of mine with stage fright on the mic but a good wrestling build. Some of the most fun I've ever had till it was time to take a bump. I wish more guys would lean into the hate honestly. Dillon Brooks has tried but he's not that good of a player. Reggie Miller knew how to do it, as did Barkley. LeBron could (and should have) but he's too worried about his brand.

I would instantly change my stance on Embiid if he actively leaned into trying to piss the fans off every time he came out on the court. Everyone loves hating the bad guy.
From a fundamental standpoint it is better for a man to have nothing but be under the protection of Jesus Christ than for him to have everything he could ever want yet be completely without.

Does anyone know who the USA is playing in the QF and how that is determined?

It's a seeding system with 4 pots

1 - USA/Germany
2 - Canada/Serbia
3 - France/Australia
4 - Brasil/Greece

If Serbia beats South Soudan otherwise the above would change

Canada vs France / Australia vs Serbia / USA vs Brasil / Germany vs Greece

That is because Germany and Brasil are from the same group so can't face each other in QF

No kidding the US has the more talent period if they don’t win by double digits then it is a failure

The US has the most skilled basketball players on the planet. Embiid is a product of the US basketball system. LeBron, Steph, and Durant are products of the US basketball system. The greatest three point shooters are a product of the US basketball system. I wanted to see the world put up a fight, and it is looking like we are stuck in 1992.

Don’t have the 4 best players in the world but have everything else 5 to 20.

The separator for Team USA will almost always be its depth. So few teams can match up with the star power the Americans have 1-12.

But there has to be a buy-in and there has to be a respect level for the game and for the opponent.

Serbia should intentionally lose this game to avoid USA in the Semis.

I remember a time when International products played their first game in the United States after they were drafted. These days guys like Embiid play AAU basketball in the United States, High School basketball in the United States yet they are still somehow international products UNLIKE Patrick Ewing and Hakeem Olajuwon who had similar routes to the NBA. SGA played high school basketball in the United States. Jokic, Luka, Wemby, and Giannis are true international products like Dirk and Yao.

The US has tried in every game so far, they wouldn't try to lose....
