SGA is arguably better than Jokic at basketball. Jokic isn’t capable of scoring and defending like this. Much better passer for sure but way inferior as a pure scorer and defensive player.

This is an outrageous take. Jokic is absolutely the better 3 level scorer.

His best PLAYOFF series is 35ppg on 65%ts.

30ppg on 63%ts for a championship run.

Advanced stats have it very close between the two this year so it depends how much you want to weigh Jokic’s longer track record of ATG play

Imagine SGA not winning MVP…

What more can he possibly do? Genuinely. How could he possibly improve his case more than this?

I think SGA has been a better scorer than Jokic this year, but Jokic is still a top 3 scorer in the NBA so it’s not like he’s a slouch on that end either

Serious answer is outplay Jokic over the course of the season (which he might have done the traditional and advanced stats are ambiguous on it)

Serious answer is separate himself from Jokic in terms of individual play, but that’s hard to do unless he starts playing like prime MJ or LeBron

He has 45 in 28 minutes and the only possible way to slow him down is double teaming 35 feet from the basket.

What did prime MJ do that SGA isn’t doing? I’m at a loss.

What the **** is this ****? XD

She's dismissing the Nuggets being worse than OKC without Jokic and without SGA?

SGA is playing with 2 all star caliber players and all nba defenders.

Wow. We are officially at "tear Jokic down to elevate a player whos done nothing but lose when it matters" from the media.

Question is, who ACTUALLY thinks this is true?

If Jokic had 0 mvps and 0 rings, whos lead the mvp race?

Yeah.

We can praise SGA for his season and OKC this season before their upcoming post season collapse, but let's not pretend Jokic isnt playing better basketball and that these two aren't being held to the same standard lol

Can we chill with calling SGA the GOAT peak until he gets out of the second round?

What did prime MJ do?

How about win ONE meaningful game. Or ONE meaningful series.

Because he hasn't done that.

If Jokic had 0 MVP's and 0 rings, SGA would still be favored. Once you hit a certain level of play, team record becomes hugely impactful, and SGA easily meets that level.

Prime MJ had a 3-peat.

I suppose that counts as something…

Jokic is averaging 29ppg on 67%TS.

Only Curry has reached that volume and efficiency. SGA and Jokic's differences essentially amounts to free throw discrepancy.

SGA is taking more shots. Hes not scoring the ball better.

There is a good argument he is. It is a shame SGA is driving the Thunder to an incredible record, with extremely high level play, through significant injuries to his team. Otherwise he would have the MVP locked up.

Jokic leads most now despite having many low effort games.

Jokic has won 3 mvps, a finals mvp, has had multiple 30ppg playoff runs and is playing the best basketball of his life.

SGA is having a great season, and these last 10 months, the two biggest moments hes experienced to assert himself - he couldn't carry his team past Dallas, who essentially let him play 1v1, and then got smoked this year in the in season tournament.

Jokic is in the midst of a top 6 or so all time peak.

SGA is the mvp this year. Conversations around it being a discussion as far as who is better should not be happening

The thunder have multiple all nba defenders and 1 all star, 2 if Chet was healthy.

OKC has the most talented roster outside of Boston.

This season, SGA has played with more all stars and all nba defenders than Jokic has his entire career.

Why must you pretend all is equal?

That's been the Thunders season. Even their toughest stretch of the season had them play 9/17 games against injured playoff teams
