Isn't this the most important thing, who the better player is? Yes, Mo fits well with LeBron. Yes, Pau Gasol fits well with Kobe. Pau Gasol is a better player than Mo Williams. Case closed.

And if Mo was such a great second option, the Cavs would have played in the Finals last year. But we'll see how he does this season, that experience should help him.

Except that it isnt the most important thing. For example:

Dirk may not be a better player overall than Chris Paul, however, he would be a better fit with a guy like LeBron, right? That being said, who would you rather have, the better player or the guy that fits in with your superstar better?

I realize its a poor example, but Im just trying to illustrate my point.

It doesn't matter how well Pau would fit with LeBron, he plays with Kobe. Mo and Pau both fits well with their superstars, only Pau is the better player. Advantage: Lakers. That's how I see it.

After the last few lakers games we'e seeing some of their flaws exposed.

As of today I have Lebron as the MVP leader.

It's still really close but the christmas game was very interesting because Kobe put up better numbers despite his off night (and by "off night" I mean not being able to get any calls), and Lebron putting up very good numbers (VERY GOOD) but his team coming out on top. Mainly what I took away from the Cavs-Lakers Christmas game was that the lakers as a team aren't very good. Sure they have Kobe and Pau but outside of those two the Lakers havent gotten much production from the rest. To be fair Ron Artest was one of the few bright spots for the lakers on christmas but with the rest of the team not being able to contribute in any meaningful way we saw a blowout. The Lakers-Suns game last night is further proof of my point. Last night, outside of Kobe, nobody was giving any effort defensively or offensively. The lakers looked like a jump shooting team that didn't know how to get back in transition. Despite the size advantage neither Gasol nor Bynum could get anything going. It just seems like this "elite team", "best supporting cast ever", etc. is being exposed in the last few games. They really just look unfocused as a unit.

That being said. Kobe's got to figure out a way to carry them and lead them to victory. The numbers are nice and I hope he keeps it up. But He's gotta get these guys focused and committed to giving 100% every night. Right now he looks like the only one who give a rat's arse.

Again, the biggest factor in my MVP rankings are wins and especially wins against the best teams so Lebron is now in the number 1 spot, pending a lakers turn around and some decisive victories over the leagues best.

What I am about to say in no way relates to the talent level of LA and Cleveland in reality, but just an interest stat is when playing NBA2k9 the Cavs team rating is 74, while the Lakers is 90. This is with current rosters!

Wow Cleveland won in Atlanta despite 6-20 from LeBron.

Meanwhile I'm watching Kobe load up on minutes like it's '05-06. I mean he's doing a lot for his team right now.

Past 5 games:
43.8mpg
38.2ppg
7.0rpg
6.2apg
1.8spg
48% FG/32% 3PT/94% FT

He really shouldn't have to do that but he is. At 31 years old I don't know how long he can keep it up. kobe might be having his best season yet though.

Don't let the numbers fool you, Lebron played great tonight. He took Joe Johnson out of the game and kept the Cavs offense flowing pretty nicely.

Anyway, I'm sure this recent uptick in Kobe's minutes is a result of Ron AND Luke being out, once we get our SFs back he'll fall back to 37-38mpg

Ah, I see. I didn't catch the game, I had to work, so I just saw the box score.

Bryant has been a monster the last few weeks. He is also surprised me with how well he has played this year. I had him pegged as the player in the league who would have an unexpected statistical drop. My thinking was based on the number of minutes he has played. I was wrong but still I think it would be better to get his minutes around 35-36 mpg instead of around 40.

Kevin Durant December: 29.6 / 6.5 / 2.6 / 1.5 / .7 on 49% / 39% / 89%

Very similar to Carlemo's great November.

Good win for the Cavs, they've been impressive this year against the elite teams. Kobe with another terrific performance. Kobe and LeBron are neck and neck.

Why should LeBron be considered DPOY over a guy like Gerald Wallace exactly?
