As a Mavs fan this sounds like you're more concerned with what's best for your team's performance and not your player's long term welfare. That's a shame. It's well known in sports that teams routinely send players out there despite having medical concerns. The hit was clearly on his head, not the neck.
I have more confidence in the professionalism of team doctors and management to make sensible decisions. He has been ruled out for game 4 to be on the safer side. There are league protocols, doctors' diagnose, organization's reputation, agent's input, and player's decision before any accusation of team's decision.
Of course you do. You and other Mavs fans are the only ones being so defensive about this. It's like you're trying to convince yourself "yes team docs have signed off playing a guy we need for the playoffs"

You have to be a fool to play doctor over the internet. What a waste of time. And then to attack a fanbase because they didn't play doctor like you?
Let's not. The team took all precaution with him after the play, aren't going to risk his health, period. But if he's cleared he's going to play, no reason for him not to.
Move along.

I mean we all saw what happened and of course the Mavs have every incentive to not call it a concussion given it's a mandatory 7 days absence. With that said, in this environment, I don't think team doctors would risk covering up a concussion. If something happens to Lively because of will-full misdiagnosis or cover up, the doctors and team officials can kiss their careers goodbye.
And while the injury looked bad, it didn't look concussion bad -> pass out, spasms and involuntary movement, etc. Felt like Lively was all there the whole time. Now that doesn't mean he didn't have a concussion of course, but I don't think we can say that he did either just because there was a blow to his head. Just have to trust the doctors at this point and assume the era of covering up brain injuries are well behind us.

Two random observations after rewatching the end of Game 2.
On the last 3 pt attempt, Reid jumped higher than he had been on all his other 3 pt attempts. Maybe if he just did the tiny little bunny hop like he'd been doing, it goes in. Maybe because of the pressure he felt he had to put a little more into the shot. Should've just stuck with what was working, but that's easy to say from my couch.
When Luka went to cuss out the crowd, based on the direction he was walking, I think that tirade was really meant for the Wolves bench, but he thought better of it and at the last second redirected it towards the crowd at midcourt

Concussion symptoms are NOT RESTRICTED TO passing out, spasms and involuntary movement. Did you see his face, his eyes the way he looked dazed? He had to be helped to the locker room? That's concussion.
Quoting American Association of Neurological Surgeons:
Common Symptoms of Concussion:
Confusion
Headache
Vision disturbances (double or blurry vision)
Dizziness or imbalance
Nausea or vomiting
Memory loss
Ringing ears
Difficulty concentrating
Sensitivity to light
Loss of smell or taste
Trouble falling asleep
Even mild concussions should not be taken lightly. Neurosurgeons and other brain injury experts emphasize that although some concussions are less serious than others, there is no such thing as a minor concussion. In most cases, a single concussion should not cause permanent damage. A second concussion soon after the first one does not have to be very strong for its effects to be permanently disabling.
Types of concussion:

He had a knee to his head. That's the direct impact. Through playing, jumping up and down, he can suffer a secondary mild concussion - acceleration-deceleration type of injury.

Did you hear they ruled him out for game 4? Mavs fans do not decide anything, but the news of CT negative, no neck bone fracture, no concussion sounds 100x better than otherwise.

I am sure the league and Mavs would appreciate if you don't mind sharing the website and valuable graphs cited with them. Tremendously useful than what they have access to.

Why are people assuming that they would want their prized rookie to take health risks or that he’d be willing to?
When will we just change the name of 25 of the 30 teams to the Washington Generals?
Please advise….

I've said this since he came to the league.
Luka is the most talented european in NBA history. He is more naturally talented than Dirk, Giannis, Jokic or any other european in history.
They had to work hard to their way up, but Luka is just naturally gifted.

This is supposed to be playoff basketball.
Name is Jaden Hardy.
There was one in what I think was the first quarter - Hardy passed it Luka and Luka fired it right back at him with a "WTF" expression.

Now that's called a rhetorical question. It means it doesn't need an answer.

I stand by every single word I said. The mental gymnastics many Mavs fans on this board are going through to justify this BS is astounding to watch and read. Mavs are calling it "neck strain" instead of "concussion" because they want to reserve the right to put him out there in case somehow Wolves win the next game or 2. If it was called "concussion" now they gotta follow some protocols and have him held out a certain amount of time. Now the doctors are employed by the "team". Their boss is the team, and interests are aligned with the team. Remember what the doctors told IT? Yeah.
