1 30 game season in college is apparently the equivalent of playing an 82 game NBA season in terms of development. You have got to be kidding me.

okay bravely done , can we agree that durant has been the MVP so far this season but lebron is still the better overall player?

I haven't argued that Durant is better than LeBron currently. That's something you all come with all your own.

Since this is a thread about the MVP...KD is no doubt leader in the MVP race right now. LBJ had a triple double, but his team lost against the Wizards, for Christ sake. He also missed key shots late in the game. The Heat are not playing with effort and it should hurt LBJ, not be an excuse. It's pretty clear Miami abandoned regular season defense in order to put up better numbers. Defense slows down the pace and takes up a lot of energy.

Melo has been playing decent, too. If the Knicks win tonight and they both put up relatively good numbers, I'd put Melo #2 on the list. Of course, this is a long season and any team going on a 2+ game losing would would really hurt their chances.

KD's been a boss so far. If he keeps it up and OKC has #1-2 best record...

I read that Miami's defensive efficiency against the Wizards by quarter was something like: 135, 128, 96, 86.

It's infuriating to watch them play with no effort for most of a game. They're literally the only team I can watch in South Florida that isn't infinitely depressing, and I don't even get to watch the real team play, only some fake poser team that will decide to play basketball for 10-12 minutes a game.

If anyone gave up it was Wade. LeBron played hard and was fighting hard for rebounds as well.

This might not be a good night for Melo's chances given how New York is doing without him
Thank you Nico!

Not that he ever had much of a chance, but after tonight's game, goodbye Melo's MVP chances.

Lot of triple teams on Melo leading to open wide threes.

Damn Melo is off my Top 10 Mvp rankings now

This Knicks team looks unstoppable

and wow smh at LBJ's surrounding cast

have to put KD at #1 though, LBJ close second on my mvp list.
Stop being so disrespectful.

This game was terrible for all candidates involved.

Melo looks like he lost all his "value" to his team when the Knicks can blow out the Heat without him. We've learned that Melo means nothing for the Knicks getting wide open threes

Lebron takes a hit because his team can't even beat the Knicks when they don't have Melo, Amare, and Shumpert. So much for Lebron "never stat padding" or playing lots of minutes. Lebron is still in the game with 3 minutes left down 22 points already playing 39 minutes

Do you guys know what is a constant?

Knicks are still dominating from three point land.

One from these:
1- This team has the greatest 3pt shooting cast I've seen in the NBA for a long time.
2- This shooting % is a hot streak and they'll fall.

Did you miss the part where Wade and Bosh went 6-25? And scored only 25 points off of 25 shots?

No one with little understanding of the game will think that way, BUT, there are people around here, and specially VOTERS, that use this as an argument.

The amusing thing is that if Carmelo played tonight, and had a decent game, he would be FAR AND AWAY the MVP right now. As a result of not playing, he might not even be in the top 5 anymore.

In fact.. Jason Kidd might be another guy I hold above Melo on my list.. I already had JR Smith up there but saw his defense and brought him down too

 I suppose so.

You're also right about the 3-pt shooting of the Knicks.

This game just killed the Heat's home record and Melo's mvp claim
