Looking at the brackets, serbia vs croatia (spicy) with the winner (serbia) playing against france (if they sre not upset by turkiye) is most likely

Which means one of france and serbia wont even make the semifinals....the two pre tournament favorites

Slovenia side of the bracket is a bit easier. Italy, croatia or finland are the tougher possible rivals before semis...where they likely will play serbia (damn, jokic vs luka) or france (olympics revenge semifinals)

Greece half of the bracket is relatively easy (lets see if they dont get upset) as lithuania/spain/germany are their toughest possible rivals to make the finals

When people say ''Euroleague'', they mostly mean Turkish Airlines Euroleague, which is European club basketball league/tournament, that consists of 18, mostly best clubs from all over Europe. These clubs still play seasons in domestic leagues, but they also play in Euroleague, just like for example Manchester City Soccer team plays in English Premier league, but also plays in Champions league (if they qualify).

This is different, this is FIBA run off season tournament between European nations. Every continent has those, and also we have global ones like World cup and the one that takes place during Olympics.

i hate it when people call it that with full sponsor name... "turkish airlines euroleague". ive seen a lot of non europeans thinking its a turkish league

No one really calls that, they just say Euroleague, I just wanted to be technical, to explain what it really is.

No, Slovenia is first. First tie-breaker is head to head.

I think its a typo in a tweet. According to official box score, he had 1 steal but 4 turnovers.

Yes, I understand you weren't talking about me specifically. Honestly, I never really hear Turkish Airlines ever get brought up, but I remember when they became sponsor and renamed a league, a lot of fans complained, that AMericans now will be even more confused and gonna think its a Turkish league.

But it is crazy how many people overseas have no concept of Euroleague. Like, every year Euro clubs vs NBA teams tournament, or cup, or pre season games posibility gets brought up, and we always have people who say - ''WhAt HaPpeNs WhEn DallAs pLaYs sLoVeNia''... Like, you guys realize Europeans do actually have basketball clubs, right, or do you think basketball clubs dont exist outside NBA?

That Spain-Lithuania pairing in the QFs is perfect. This could be a medal game quality but the draws (and early LIT struggles) made it this way... at least so i guess good for the fans...

Lithuania and Spain are not among favourites this year. Odds on Lithuania winning Eurobasket are 15:1 and Spain 19:1. Spain was first only because their group was very easy.

Medal game isnt the same as winning Eurobasket. It is also include 1/2 finals and game for 3rd place. Looking at brackets, Lithuania has the best chances with Slovenia/Serbia/Greece to get in 1/2 finals.

He implied that Lithuania was 4th because they struggled in the group. They didn't struggled, they played in the far the toughest group, unlike Spain. And ironically enough position 4 in the group B was the second best to be in and that's why they have favourable draw. If they have won against France, they would have much tougher draw.

People just see big names and assume they were favourites before the Eurobasket. Spain is a big name, but they have the worst roster in 2 decades.

I was dreaming about 4th place in B group, b/c looking at our group and crazy schedule there was no chance to take the first place.

01.09 Slovenia
03.09 France
04.09 Germany (Host)

That's Fiba **** yet again. Totally unbalanced groups. If I understand right, host could choose 1 team and Germany has chosen Lithuania, because of their great fans. And Lithuania agreed. So you brought it on yourself. ;)

No, first its points (not points scored), then it‘s head to head matchup. Slovenia beat Germany so it‘s Slovenia 1st, Germany 2nd.

Say wins instead of points, it's basically the same.

Good one. Didnt know it. The basketball federation apparently thought about the fans and the local Lithuanians, whom are a lot of in Germany, but the main thing was the really bad schedule.

France has best defense?

Athletes for the perimeter and Rudi in the middle?

But Luka hitting step back 3s, unstoppable?

Schedule in this group would be always bad for someone, too many good teams. You were maybe even lucky to have Bosnia in last day. They could easily surprised you, like they surprised Slovenia, if you have played against them in early rounds, if you weren't fully prepared.

Incredibly difficult group B was unfair for Bosnia, who could easily advanced in other groups and for group A, where all 4 teams have now very difficult opponents.
