Nobody can stop that kind of Luka. It was like watching game 7 against the Suns, where he had 27 points in first half and Suns had 27 too. The only difference was that he didn't need to play last Q against the Suns.

Prime Mickael Pietrus or Blazers Batum ain't walking through that door anytime soon. I don't see any guys on the current roster really being intimidating lockdown perimeter defenders.
So many people who attain the heights of power in this culture—celebrities, for instance—have to make a show of false humility and modesty, as if they got as far as they did by accident and not by ego or ambition.

Wish my Bulgaria made it instead of Belgium and somehow took a revenge for my Suns.

Doncic and Vezenkov with almost identical scoring numbers in this tournament. The former the much more talented player, while the later a bit more consistent would have still been interesting duel.

FIBA scheduling is weird indeed when a team plays 4th and 5th games in less than 24h.

My understanding of the scheduling is that they wanted to go through the group stage as quickly as possible, so players have more time to rest between elimination games later on.

It's been a pretty boring group stage for Serbia, hopefully not having quality opposition won't bite us in the ass.

Vezenkov is solid player and all, but you can't compare scoring abilities of both. It's like saying that Vezenkov would be more consistent scorer than Booker in Suns. ;) Vezenkov was playing nonstop for a losing team in very easy group. He had very nice tournament, but I wouldn't take much conclusions from that.

You had the easiest group and consequently you might have the most difficult path to the final.

Nah, just said Vezenkov was more consistent in his performances in those 5 games reflected in their scoring numbers. Spain and Turkey are still very good teams, Belgium was beatable though if Bost was as consistent as Vezenkov in this tournament.

I'd love Vezenkov playing for Greece but he chose Bulgaria (and hats off to him for that).

Of course, no one really comparing skill level of Doncic to Vazenkov, but what Sasha did this tournament, showed what a high caliber player he is.
I remember talking Euroleague with people here, and some said, Vezenkov should have been MVP this season, because he did the biggest carry job out of all final for and MVP candidates. I was sleeping on him all along, I never realized he was this good.

Just look at the odds in 1/8 finals between Group A and Group B. Belgium 12.5/1; Montenegro 5.75/1; Turkey 3.5/1 and the closest and still big underdog Spain 2.8/1. So basically anything else then 4:0 for teams from group B would be a big surprise. And then we have eliminated Bosnia, who would be in the fight for first place in group A, but was already eliminated.

Yeah, it should be tempting to play with Giannis and win something. Both parents Bulgarian (father ex Bulgarian national team player) so nothing surprising he chose to represent BG.

I didn't expect him to be amongst the statistical leaders of this tournament, but I don't watch EL either. Used to catch a few games to scout Bogdan Bogdanovic, watched a bit of Luka as well, but have missed what sounds like a great season from Vezenkov. Once randomly watched a part of a game where he scored a few threes in a row and thought that he may have improved his game. Leading in rebounds is certainly a big surprise.

Bogie missed on purpose to not win by 8 ?

Croatia wants to play Finland instead of Israel/Poland ?

Edit: it seems Poland is not possible so the choice was between Finland/Israel.

Would be funny if Serbia lost tonight to Poland and Croatia would be playing them.

Yeah, he really missed on purpose, maybe he just wanted Italy to play Serbia, F U Italy....

Well, despite getting this win, I would say, yet again Croatia underperforms relatively to their talent level. Look at their roster, they suppose to be one of the favorites, but they are so mediocre. Reminds me of 00's Slovenia, great talent of players - mediocre results.

Finland wins 88-67 vs Netherlands, despite the leading players basically taking a day off (Markkanen 18 min 22 points, Salin 16 min 3 points 2 assist, Koponen 14 min 5 points 4 assist). Now if Serbia does what they are supposed to do vs Poland, Finland avoids Greece on first playoff round.
There are three kinds of people: Those who can count, and those who can't.

Could be they wanted to avoid Slovenia in the quarter finals actually, choosing the winner of Spain/Lithuania instead.

Good time for my ESPN stream not to be working, at work.

Why tf Giannis is playing today? Such a bad decision, take him out even if he wants to play

I doubt he gets more than 20 minutes. Probably for chemistry reasons with the rest of the team.
