Why do I get the feeling if Embiid didn’t play like he did we would be hearing how “soft” he is?

Toronto won 27 games and was in the deep lottery last season. They won 48 games this season ~12 months after trading a few long-term vets (Lowry and Powell) for youth. Barnes (20), Achiuwa (22), Trent Jr (23) and OG (24) are 4 of Toronto's top 6 players while FVV (28) and Siakam (28) are still on the upswing of their careers. After that, Toronto has 4 other players younger than 25 (Champagnie, Banton, Brooks, Flynn) that have played meaningful minutes at various times this year. They are anything but a treadmill team. Give it at least 3 more years before making a ridiculous claim like that.

Toronto lost Kawhi and still went further in the playoffs than the Sixers in 2020......Sixers got swept by the Celtics in the 1st round while the Raptors took them to 7 games.

if anything the Sixers are the treadmilling team, and that tag will stick to them until they get past the 2nd round

If the Sixers won by 3 pts we would be having a different conversation.

It was 1 game.

If you don’t want Embiid to manhandle you don’t cover him with guys a half foot shorter than him and are giving up like 50 pounds?

I think he's referring to the illegal elbows Embiid was throwing at people...

Nothing illagal about those elbows. Get your face out of the way and stop triple teaming, if you don't want that to happen. Have you seen Shaq and what he did to Mutombo in the 2001 Finals. Mutombo's face was Shaq's punching bag.

bad games lolololol

Siakam and FVV were pretty average and OG was slightly above average while Barnes actually was great.

You do know there is a pretty big difference between "great" (which is what you said) and "bad" (which is what you're implying I said), right? lolololol

Treadmilling means, no hope of winning a championship while making the playoffs. You can't redefine it. The Raptors have no hope. Sweep!

Literally all elbows to the face get reviewed for flagrant fouls nowadays, except when Embiid does it lol.

Stop reviewing all other elbows to the face if you're gonna treat one player differently...that's all we ask...

This guy has no idea what treadmiing really means, he uses his own made up definition nothing to do with the original intent of the term

Embiid is a physical player. Reason ya'll are complaining is because the league doesn't have many of them. Embiid gets called for his fair share of flagrants. I know you're down because your golden boy had his ass handed to him by the Warriors. Enjoy your advanced stats MVP.

I know....treadmilling means a team is stuck in one place...which the Sixers have been doing for how long now, stuck in the 1st/2nd round

Dude is clueless defending that elbow Embiid threw, it was a reckless play. He wasn't even being double teamed and it was early in the game, so blaming it on the defensive scheme is a stupid cop out

You failed to address my point - Embiid elbows players in the face not once but twice in the same game, in a league where all elbows to the face are reviewed...

I understand that you're an Embiid stan, but you have to understand how this looks to literally 29 other team fanbases?

Look at you already bringing up Jokic since he lives rent free in your head  meanwhile Embiid was the 4th best player on the Sixers last night coasting to a win...must be nice to be the 4th best player getting carried to a win while scoring 50% of your points at the line :D

Since you brought up Jokic, at the end of the year they'll both have the same # of rings, same # of finals MVP's, but Jokic will have two MVP trophies in his trophy case :) And that's with Embiid having the easiest route of all the contenders in the East (only has to play ONE of the Bucks/Celtics/Nets) since they duke it out. Perks of falling to the 4 seed I guess?

I can't find the one you were talking about but I watched the whole game, and didn't see what he did that was so wrong. Can you please link the one you mentioned?

For the one he had a flagrant called on him for...

Let's see, Embiid was going for the ball. Stop bitching about this. Embiid got posterized by John Collins last year in the playoffs, and Collins choked out Embiid. NOthing from anyone about that.

Yep, it's rather sad. I wonder if he's got posters in his room :D There's no way he believes some of the things he types...those were dangerous plays, guarantee if Embiid got hit in the head like that he's screaming for their head

If it was intentional, and a non basketball move it should be reviewed. Many of the times Embiid inadvertently hurts someone, is because he's too big and too strong. It's bound to happen. Not sure what you're looking for here.

How did you come to the conclusion that "4/5 playing great"? Siakam had his lowest rebound total of the season and scored most of his points in the 2nd half when the game was already starting to slip away. FVV was saddled with 2 quick fouls which affected his entire game because he couldn't be near as aggressive yet he still fouled out early in the 4th. OG had 8 of his 20 points in garbage time and he was shooting 5/10 with 12 points and 1 turnover before the 4th. GTJ was 2/11 from the field and Achiuwa was 3/9 from the field while Boucher fouled out in 15 minutes.

Those are hardly "great" games. GTJ and Achiuwa were terrible, Siakam and FVV played below average games and Boucher and Birch were pretty good in limited minutes while OG was slightly above average. The only Raptor to have a great game was Barnes. He likely would have had a triple-double in his first career playoff game.

He's delusional. That's how.

What player had a great game? The one cut short by rickless play by Embiid?

so 24-7-3-3 and 0 TO is playing bad 50%FG

on the RS he averages 23-8-5-0-1 and 3 TO

Yes...you're delusional.

It's not the same NBA as back then though, I guarantee someone just standing with their hands up, and a post player just jumping into them and making a layup wouldn't have been a foul in 2001.

This league's foul calls are too subjective and extremely soft. So many possessions it felt like just standing in front of Embiid is a foul.

This is such a tired argument. Like who are you complaining to. If you have such a problem with it you should write to the league office. Is the league had an issue with it they would have created new rules to prevent it like with Trae Young and Harden.
