I can expect the local coverage doing something like this. ESPN is getting pathetic fast, I don't even watch Sportscenter anymore to be honest but this has pretty much done it for me

ESPN is about making money just like any other business is. Regardless of whether people like ESPN or not, they will read the articles in the index which will make ESPN money. It's a smart business move.

I never disagreed with that......but it's still overkill and rather sad that they feel like they have to coattail. Like other posters have stated create ESPNMiami like they've done for every other city with multiple teams. Miami is pretty much synonymous with the Heat and imo would generate the same amount of interest. It is a smart business move and ESPN couldn't care less about looking like Lebron nuthuggers as long as it makes them money nobody is disputing that. I wont be reading the articles in the index thats for sure.

I heard about this like last week...I just laughed about it and moved on.

Keep wishing injuries and hating on our players....that shows alot of class and restraint

It is so crazy how many jealous losers hate us....if this was your team, you would love this and you all know it,...a bunch of hypocrital jealous losers.

As for the website, it's a little much but this is something entirely different so of course ESPN is going to go the extra mile.

Here's a clue...you don't have to click on it...if you do then you secretly want to know about our team as much as we do.

From a business perspective, I think it's a brilliant idea. Why stop at the Heat? Celtics and Lakers could generate enough interest as well. I'd also do a small thing for the Cavaliers as well just because there's going to be a handful of people who are curious to see how they recover from all this.

Wishing injuries and hating the players?
if you don't agree with everything Heat = Hater/jealous
If you dont love and support Lebron in every aspect of his life = racist
Getting to the point where you cant even form your own opinion up in here.

You're...you....you guys are just jealous......you're all just jealous stupid face losers!

As a Miami sports fan, I see this incredible amount of coverage and I can only think one thing. This almost balances out the complete lack of respect all of our teams are shown every year by BSPN (except for the Canes).

How are they the best professional basketball team in history? They haven't won a single game.

People who dont even watch basketball are talking about the Miami Heat. This is a smart move by ESPN. Miami is going to have alot of new "fans" this for the next 6 yrs.

If it were really rigged, why would the NBA put these 3 players in Miami of all cities? There were MUCH LARGER media markets in the running for these 3 from Chicago to NY to NJ. Miami is not on their level by any means.

Yes, it was rigged.

Miami was the only team that could sign all three and they already had a pact made (along with Chris Paul) to play together on the same team since the Chinese Olympics. So yes, this whole thing was planned years ago.
Miami wasn't the only team that could sign all 3. Miami was the only one that could sign all 3 upon finding a taker for Beasley, as they were still over the cap.

This conspiracy stuff is mind-numbingly (Please Use More Appropriate Word).

B/W NY and Miami, let alone Chicago, too, Miami is completely no where close to those market. Chicago or NY would've made more sense on SO many levels.

Again...rigged?
Chicago and NY didn't have the cap room to sign all three to the deals they signed for. Miami was the only team that could once they ditched Beasley. I also see you don't bother denying what was the worst open secret for years with Lefraud, Wade, Bosh and Paul all making a pact to play together on the same team.

Chris Paul isn't on the Heat so stop mentioning him. There is no possibly way they could sign Paul unless he signs for the MLE.
