Just like the Cavs the last 2 years, until the Heat actually do something it's all talk. The Heat haven't proved they can beat the Celtics in the regular season nevermind a best of 7 series.
Lol now its heat haven't proven anything in the playoffs.
-Heat just signed,"for all we know they can be a a 50 win team and not mesh
9-8 start-"Of course they are 9-8, you can't have three ball dominant players on the same team, the experiment has failed".
-When Heat were on a 10 game winning streak- "Heat still haven't proven they can beat good teams all they do is beat bottom feeder teams and 9th seeded teams (Heat go on to beat Hawks,Utah, Hornets,Nyk)
Heat on 14,15 game winning streak-"HA! Let them beat ELITE teams, they will surely lose to Lakers".(Heat go on to thrash Lakers)
Now- "Heat are just a regular season team, we've seen the Cavs, they haven't proven they can beat teams in the playoffs, come playoffs they will get thrashed by the either the Lakers or Celtics".
Eventually If Heat do win the championship:
"Heat have two top 2 players in the league and a 24-10 PF of course they will win the championship, LeBron took the easy way out, the league is ruined".
1. Yea...thats about natural progression of how things work. I don't understand why you're making it sound like it's ridiculous. Same thing happened w/ Boston when they got their big 3. Until you win the championship - there is going to be people questioning and doubting. I don't think thats strange at all. Of course its ridicolous, you and other post on this board are mostly hypocritical its hilarious.
2. To be fair "Heat have two top 2 players in the league and a 24-10 PF of course they will win the championship, LeBron took the easy way out, the league is ruined" was already being said when they came, so it's not like it's coming out of no where. Once again, if you don't get the context of the post then then I don't know what to tell you its pretty much common sense what I was trying to point out.
3. What is this need for you to point out the lack of respect your team is getting? There isn't even a basketball comment in your post, just criticizes another poster's thought. Lack of respect in other words hating? I can't stop people hating but I can point hypocrites that cling on to things until the point where they have to twist it. You had people saying the Miami's experiment has "failed" to "of course they have the first place they have LeBron and Wade and Bosh"
To be fair Chosen1, it's not just you - I see this w/ other heat posters as well. I especially love when you copy and paste another persons thought on a different board and bring it over to your board to laugh at. This is why, atleast myself, there is a feeling of animosity toward your board (except the few posters that i've seen for a while like tim_hardaway and flash). You think Flash and Tim don't do that from time to time?I I doubt you are the one to talk, Bulls have a thread on the heat and have all their hate and jeer about the heat.
As for the heat - and the actual topic at hand - I'm less impressed w/ the offense, i haven't been blown away yet really (not say it isn't good, it's great) but when you have LBJ/Wade, I figured I'd see more). I'm actually more impressed and really worried about their defense.
I think looking at how things have worked out - I think they got that 1 seed at the right time.
I will say this, regardless of the seeding in these playoffs, the semi's are gonna suck in the East. I don't see anyone below the top 4 causing an upset so going into the semi's a team is going to have to through two of Boston, Chicago, Orlando, Miami. Thats ridiculous. I'll say it right now, The east wins the title easily over whoever makes it out of the west.

Re: Miami is #1, did you think it would happen this quickly?
What would the Heat's record have been right now if Wade hadn't missed virtually the entire preseason to injury? What would their pace have been?
Most people will now say that their pace would have been for 70+ wins. But that means they're changing their positions, for it implies that their position at the beginning of the season should have also been a prediction of 70+ wins unless they explicitly (and amazingly) predicted Wade's injury.
When we make win predictions in the preseason, it's always contingent on assuming no major injuries to the superstars, and if someone is wanting to assume an injury to a superstar, then they explicitly state that prediction (like saying, "I think Yao won't make it past the first month, therefore..." etc). To restate for clarity, nobody who offered win predictions for the Heat said, "I'm predicting that Wade will miss the entire preseason and am going to make my win prediction based on that assumption. IMO the missed time will significantly slow their gelling process, thereby leading to a number of early season losses while they adjust to each other during the season instead of getting that out of the way in the preseason."
If Wade hadn't missed the last 3 weeks of the preseason, then it's reasonable to think that the Heat would have gelled about 3 weeks sooner. If we go back 3 weeks before the Heat's current 20-1 run, we see that they lost 6 games in those 3 weeks. I think it's reasonable to think that the Heat would have won 5 of those, especially since only one of them wasn't a close game (the 16 point loss to Indiana).
So I think Miami would be about 35-4 right now if Wade hadn't missed the preseason...which is exactly what I predicted on the first day of camp before Wade got hurt. And I was absolutely eviscerated for it on these boards.
But now we can see who was right (me) and who was wrong (the hordes who hated on me).
Looking ahead, and assuming no major injuries to LeBron or Wade, I look for the Heat to lose about 5 or 6 games the rest of the way, with 2 or 3 of those being late-season games that they throw away to rest their players.
Season prediction: 68-14
Playoff prediction: Win title losing a total of just 2 playoff games (prolly 1 in ECF and 1 in finals)

The Heat had an easy schedule during December. The only true test was against the Lakers. They will not be able to beat the Celtics or the Magic in a 7 game series.

Another, god forbid the Heat or any other team in the post-season make adjustments, game plan (for more than 1 night), put together game plans...ALL THINGS the post-season allows.
But no.

Regarding the OP, what surprises me is Miami's defense. I dare anyone to dig up a thread where they said Miami would be an elite defensive team this year.
Their offense is also very good, but I don't think that's a massive surprise. Its not like their offense is epic. What separates them from just being very good to being awesome is their defense.
Still douches though.

see the avy bet

also if you could find the "top 5 offenses and defenses" thread there were some people there predicting the heat would have an elite defense

heat is already head and shoulders above lakers. celtics is the only team arguably better than us. orlando magic? expect them to choke in the post season. these poodles are no better than bulls.
Not one, two, or three but at least five championships are what i expect from the Heatles. Easily.

Chosen1 - Thanks for proving my point. 1st, the bulls board may laugh at the team - your board laughs at posters. There's a difference.
I'll say it once and I'll say it again - Posters like you is why your board gets a bad rep.

Come on now, don't act like your board doesn't make fun of our board and fans.
Gifted free throws just weren't enough for the Dbags last night. Awesome game. Way to go Dallas.

That's from your own "Official Miami Heat Thread", where Bulls fans pretty much make fun of the Heat and their fans for 90 pages.
EDIT: And just today, you have a Bulls fan start a thread about Derrick Rose being #1 in ESPN's MVP rankings on the Heat board.
I'm not going to pretend all Bulls fans are like that, but let's not act like one side is innocent here.
Both sides are guilty.

youre right both sides are guilty. You were also right about this thread needing to die. So I will apologize, and leave this be. Hopefully I won't get poked and brought back in here.

Cmon heatleswinitall you are making yourself and us look bad, stop.
Nonetheless, the heat are steadily improving but they tend to take some games off (Warriors, Bucks, Rockets), but if they keep up this pace they will surpass Boston and Orlando who i believe are the only legitimate threats.
