As someone who didn't watch every bulls game during the season, I am asking why is Rose taking so many threes? He seems to have fallen into that same spell that some young stars do when they get a little better at shooting threes they start chucking them whenever because its a shot you can get anytime without any work.

However, when said point guard is your sole creator, primary scorer, primary assist-man while being your first line of defense, you need to find ways to less that burden. Not having a secondary ballhandler only adds to it.

Even prime Dwyane Wade needed players like Jason Williams alongside him, even though he was the primary ballhandler.

Come on man, Wade did not NEED Jason Williams at all. I am assuming you are referring to the 2006 playoff run and Wade did all of that and could have done it with or with Williams.
Your emotions fuel the narratives that you create. You see what you want to see. You believe what you want to believe. You ascribe meaning when it is not there. You create significance when it is not present.

So you're telling me that Wade did not need additional guard help? Fair enough. I think that's extremely wrong, though. Hell, Michael Jordan needed Scottie Pippen in terms of having another creator on the floor.

And he did this without a true second Superstar

Dwight Howard and Dirk Nowitzki are really enjoying those "true second superstars".

I must have missed where the Mavs and the Magic had the best record too?

I must've missed where having the best regular season record, which is essentially meaningless, became a prerequisite of winning the MVP.

Rose has a 24 PER so far in the playoffs. Won 2 games for the Bulls almost singlehandedly and made the big play to win the third. His play set up both of Korver's big threes in the first 2 games.

His TS% was .560 coming into game 4, despite no real help beside Korver offensively, and with Indiana throwing the kitchen sink at him the whole series. He was 3-6 to start that game, sprained his ankle (he's now wearing a boot) and went 3-16 after coming back, while obviously hobbling around.

Considering Indiana has pretty well matched the Bulls strong defense, Rose has been the difference in the series, finishing games for his team, while Indiana hasn't been able to answer late except for the last game.

B-Scott: 3rd year guard, no other super-star, still led his team to the best record in the NBA.

You: Dwight and Dirk didn't have another super-star either.

Me: Pointing out where you completely ignored the fact that Rose's team had the best record in the NBA

This thread is about Rose and the MVP. You brought up the fact that Rose's team finished with the best regular season record, which, of course, is irrelevant. At least in terms of the MVP discussion.
