It is nothing short of hilarious that sports fans, after decades of bitter complaining about player salaries being too high compared to "real jobs" are now angry when players who spend 8 years with incompetent front offices use their free agency to move to teams that have a better chance of winning, in some cases taking less money to do so.

Count out Chicago. Not because it doesn't make sense for the Bulls, the Magic, and Dwight Howard (because it really does), but because Dwight Howard doesn't make sense.

I just DON'T GET why Dwight doesn't want to go to Chicago. It's insane
.
He would form a dinasty and get to the conference finals every year till he retires.

Rose/CJ
Hamilton/Butler
Turkoglu/Brewer
Boozer/ Taj
Howard/ Asik

They'll be at 49 million next season. Mo has a player option, but they can just amnesty him. 8 million off the books

41 million. The cap is at 58 million right? They can sign him
.
They can even trade Jordan and get a TPE to offer dwight max money

LA has $51m on the books.
If they amnesty Mo they are down to $42m.
That doesn't count 5 roster holds for about $2.5m, so they are $44.5m. A max contract for Dwight is $17.5m, so they are about $4m over.

Gomes+Bledsoe in a S&T for Dwight would work. Of course Dwight doesn't get more than he would have if he signed as a FA, but it eliminates one roster hold instead of two

Hasn't the amnesty option expired?

I believe it's available for one time use through the lifetime of this CBA.

They should easily be able to move Jordan for a TPE to GSW or some other Team with capspace shouldnt they? I even think some Teams with capspace might take on Mo Williams? That plus the amnesty clause should be enough to offer a max deal or am i missing something?

Dwight is a loser. He doesn't influence the game the way some people claim. Griffin is a game-changer, a winner. Clippers should ignore the superclown. And even if the Lakers get Howard, they would have to give up too much, and would still end up being inferior to the Clippers. Howard isn't a whole lot different to Bynum. In fact Bynum at his best appears to impact the game more than Howard. Just that Bynum is prone to missing portions of the season.

I think the Clips have a real shot at Dwight in free agency.. This would be much better for them than giving up Griffin etc now.. Convince Dwight to wait it out & sign..

They start with salary dumps for Mo & Deandre.. Deandre's would have to come around draft time because he signed a new deal I'm assuming.. His trade value will be insane after this season with CP3..

Clear 19M for next season & bring in some solid picks & young players on cheap contracts.. Gomes would be the only guy left to use the Amnesty on, but that 4M in cap space could mean another free agent.. Jordan will be a 10M backup with Dwight there.. I'm sure LAL would be happy to send TPE + 1st for Mo if it's clear that they can't land Dwight..

So the Clips go into next season with:

Cp3
Caron
Blake

+ the cap space to sign D12 + possibly another FA + the 2.5M exception for under the cap teams..

& possibly Billups returning.. I think if he can play with CP3 Dwight Blake he might just stick around..

Not to mention the picks & young players they can get for Deandre & Mo.. Bledsoe who looked like he was on his way to being a starting NBA PG pre-injury.. The best big 3 in the league with all of those assets.. These guys could run the league for a decade

Logic fail much?
??? How is it hilarious, if the people who think that someone earns too much, get angry when the same person gets more privileges (makes their desired team lists)?!
Moreover, to your point, as Chris Rock once said "The people who have the least **** can talk the most ****, and people with the most **** can talk the least ****". Why the hell would Dwight, who has been catered to all of his needs for 8 years, and had very good teams that could have won, if he could make some free throws (for example), can talk **** and make his wish lists while earning 20 millions? If there are any players who "should be entitled" to make wish lists those would be scrubs who don't earn much and are forced to tolerate some primadonas (most of the Lakers roster for example). Dwight should shut up and go shoot some free throws. Instead of making wish lists and ultimatums he should apologise to Orlando that he wasn't good enough when they could win, and for destroying team spirit afterward. The sense of entitlement of some of these players is amazing.

We have options. We can trade Mo or DJ for a TPE with zero problems. We can amnesty Gomes or Foye, or include one of them with one of the others in a TPE scenario. All in all, we could afford Dwight as a free agent, or make a sign and trade to include Hedo in the mix.

If Dwight wants to become a FA next season, the Clippers are the only team that can both afford him and are on his shortlist. Orlando needs to walk away with something as currently, all signs point to Dwight leaving.

C - Dwight / Evans
PF - Griffin / Thompkins
SF - Butler / Hedo
SG - Billups / Foye
PG - Paul / Bledsoe

Sweet!!!

Incorrect, the Nets can afford him as well if they stretch exception Shawne W. and dont' pick up D.James. Or Shawne W. and Farmar have player options they may opt out of, or they could still move their small two year deals like Morrow, Farmar, Petro this season, etc. And they can keep Lopez as his cap hold is only about $7.5m... or trade him for a potentially better fit.

NJ would look like:

D.Williams
Brooks
'12 #1 (top 5 most likely)
Lopez
Howard

Clippers better off with 2 big men impact players than one I Dwight.

Clippers need depth at the front court and a proper shooting guard. Dwight leaves them with no depth and foul trouble away from vulnerability.

Blake will never be a good defensive player but he can score way better than Dwight, Deandre isn't an elite defender but he can grab boards and block shots which Dwight does better but not enough to trade Blake away. Clippers need another big who can backup Deandre and Blake.

The Clips have proven they'll pay far more than anyone else is offering, they have that Isiah mindset. So Blake, Mo, Billups for Dwight and Hedo would not surprise me whatsoever.

Good catch

One thing I know though, man did the Clips ever screw themselves by trading both Gordon and the Min pick for Paul. Imagine if they have Eric Gordon right now. Dwight Howard says he wants to go to the Clips. Badda bing badda boom, next thing you know Paul, Griffin, Howard all together

This is why keeping your assets matters. Why assets are everything. And why franchises like the Clips and Knicks continue to fail miserably

But without the pick and Gordon together, Stern's Hornets (he is technically their president) will not accept it. So no Chris Paul.

Clippers simply can only overpay for 1 star player.... either Chris Paul OR Dwight Howard.... not both....
