There is no way that Magic is going to take Zaza and two draft picks besides that trade needs to match the salary that Orlando is giving up. That why the salaries of Al, Teague or Harris, Zaza or Steveson, and draft picks will work.

Okay isnt going to take an two expires and draft picks, after they had been given 5 drafts atleast.

their is no other team that can make a better trade than Atlanta's Zaza and two draft picks for Dwight and JRich.

And neither can Atlanta as that trade doesn't work
Atlanta still has the following salary...

Teague / Harris / Farmar
Morrow / Stevenson
J.Smith
Hoford
Pachullia

or about $50m in salary.

Atlanta can easily add expiring contracts like Harris or Petro if they want........................ cheers

Farmar is getting brought out but
That is the reason why that Zaza, Horford, and one of the PG has been in that trade.

Forgot about Petro and roster holds.. puts you guys close to the salary cap and teams over the cap cannot trade recently acquired players for 60 days.

Not sure you're angle here.
If you really want Dwight you have to be serious about it and trade for him (beat LA and Houston offer). "Just signing" someone as a FA is far from given, esp. with Dallas lurking and #1 on his list.

Who cares if he would walk, so you start over then.

if im atlanta... why trade for him? just make a run at him in free agency. once the nets are out of the picture, its basically you or dallas in the offseason

Because you would be able to offer more than Dallas if you traded for him...

True but then again, the only way he is going to the Nets via trade (btw its sucks) or FA (For MLE), yeah, he is going to like to play for MLE, really MLE.[/quote]

who said anything about the nets? i said his options in free agency are limited to atlanta and dallas. so if your atlanta, why give up anything for him when you can sign him in the offseason. and with josh smith and horford and being his hometown, thats likely more attractive then dallas.

Wrong..... Zaza, Harris, Petro, and Hawks' cap matches up with Dwight and Jason Richardson's salaries

Why not take the risk and get Dwight and resign him and his best friend Josh Smith and then try get CP3 in the offseason. Even if Dwight walks you still have no bad contracts and our picks to rebuild with.

No, CP3 is a Clippers. No hate or love for Hawk, but the Clippers need CP3.

Lakers - Rockets - Magic Talk trade

This 3-way would be interesting. HOU would get Bynum and give ORL the cap room and picks, and both LA and HOU can take a bad salary back.

The Magic, Lakers and Rockets are discussing a three-team deal that sends Dwight Howard to LA and Andrew Bynum to HOU:

"@AQS18: Hear the latest rumor involving LA/HOU/ORL with Bynum ending up in HOU and LA ending up with Dwight?" Yep. Interesting alternative.

Yep like I said yesterday it makes the most sense as LA feels they basically can make Dwight extend, Bynum likes Houston and the though of being the man, and Orlando can truly rebuild better

Thoughts?

I came up with this earlier:

Los Angeles Lakers Trade breakdown
Incoming Players
Dwight Howard
Jason Richardson

Outgoing Players
Andrew Bynum
Metta World Peace
Steve Blake
1 First Round Pick

Houston Rockets Trade Breakdown

Incoming Players
Andrew Bynum
Metta World Peace
Hedo Turkoglu

Outgoing Players

Kevin Martin(Expirer)
Luis Scola
Shaun Livingston(Expirer)
Patrick Patterson
Jeremy Lamb
Royce White
1 First Round Pick

Orlando Magic Trade Breakdown
Incoming Players
Steve Blake(1 year left)
Kevin Martin(Expirer)
Luis Scola
Shaun Livingston(Expirer)
Patrick Patterson
Jeremy Lamb
Royce White
2 First Round Picks

Outgoing Players
Dwight Howard
Hedo Turkoglu
Jason Richardson

Congratulations on a successful trade.
Due to the L.A. Lakers being over the cap, the 25% trade rule is invoked. the L.A. Lakers had to be no more than 125% plus $100,000 of the salary given out for the trade to be accepted, which did happen here. This trade satisfies the provisions of the Collective Bargaining Agreement.

As a Magic fan, **** this trade. I want to rebuild, but we actually deserve something of value in return for a player like Dwight. Not just a couple of draft picks in the teens or twenties.

I would assume deal would look like

Lakers
- Dwight

Rockets
- Bynum
- J-Rich or Turk

Magic
- Martins expiring
- 1st rounders from Houston
- LA 2nd rounders and cash
- Blake

Probably Artest and Duhon thrower around somewhere

I like it alot, gives us a quick rebuild and no large contracts for players with potential injury risks. If we can pick up Parsons and 2 of Lamb, White, Jones plus Martin's expiring I would take it.

He's the guy who said Bynum could become a monster on the block just this summer with some teaching and time. He also advocated Bynum, Pau, And Odom all starting and finishing games when he hosted fan nights over Artest
