It started with the Raptors. It's only fitting that the streak will end in Toronto.

No but they had a 31-2 stretch IIRC, which is pretty close to 33-0

Phoenix had a 32-2 stretch in 06/07

15 game win streak, loss.
17 game win streak, loss.

And both of those losses were in the closing seconds too....if the balls had just bounced another way twice, they could have been knocking on the all-time record.

For a mediocre team to end their streak will be the biggest achievement of their season.

When you're talking about super long streaks the margin of error is so small (1 game essentially) that there's no such thing as "being close" really. As you can see the '72 lakers have an 11 game margin on the next closest team (a very fluky win team really).

I agree, not saying they were close to getting the streak, so much as saying they were close to ending up with the same record, if that makes sense. The other guy was surprised that the 72 win Bulls weren't anywhere close to having the longest streak, and i was just pointing out that they had a stretch over a 33 games that ended up with a very similar overall record. Thats how they were "close" Does that make sense?

When they host the Raptors and decide to sit their entire starting lineup and bench

Yes and no. If you want to say they were extremely dominant over a large stretch of games as were the '72 lakers no doubt about it.

I made a point earlier in another thread about how the '96 bulls would go on very decent win streaks (i.e 12 games) and then lose 1 game and then repeat which is very dominant but also shows how the action of keeping up one super long win streak is incredibly difficult and was so for a team even like the '96 bulls.

Looking at their schedule looks like it can very be possible they can extend it to thirty games or so. San Antonio will not be at their strongest at end of season as they love to rest.
I would love to see history being made and see the 33 game streak being broken even though I am a laker fan.

I've heard it through the grapevine..NBA gods have already designated Los Angeles LAKERS as NBA Champions in near future. The destiny is real. TRUST ME.

Hawks, Bucks and Celtics are all reasonable picks, but if they just dont play down to their opponent(which we know they will) and continue to execute the way they have been it can go on for a while.

I went with @PHI. Just a gut feeling. Second night of consecutive games ("back-to-back" is not accurate to say, fwiw), on the road, against a poor team easy to overlook.

Miami's record, as well as LeBron's stats, on the second night of a back-to-back are dominant, so I don't think that will be what gets them.

They definitely play down to the competition so something on the road against a bad team is where they'll lose it. Probably soon.

Miami only have two semi difficult games in the next 11. Boston and Milwaukee, this streak could get wry interesting if Miami get past those two teams. Don't be surprised by Atlanta tonight with horford and smith though.

The Heat have had the Hawks' number the whole season, especially since the first matchup where they owned them in the clutch.
