Wow I wonder if a trade is coming for a SF or they've decided to match Evans instead.

You can call it whatever you want .... But when your dealing with facts .... You can't back up your talk ... Where has Iggy changed a culture? Ever? In his career?

You see just because you sayyyy something ... Just because you thinnnnk something ... Dosent actually make it true .... You see because in the reallll world we don't use imagination to make a point .... We actually use factual points of refrence ...

Can you do that?

Ohhh ...ok

The culture itself is going to change given the fact the Kings have new ownership, a new GM and a new coach. Iggy is a hard working veteran, who will bring a lot to a young team. He will not be expected to change the culture completely by himself, he will only be expected to lead by example and be a veteran presence. The idea is a step in the right direction for the Kings. It also only a four year contract, not a 7 year contract like some of these people used to get. Even he falls off in his last year, the hope would be that the other guys would be stepping up

Don't get me wrong ...I like the guy ... And I agree the culture change in sacramento is going to be largely based on the ownership change FO change coaching change and just getting rid of the magoofs as a whole for the city .... and little to do with Andre Igudala ..... But my thing is ... For that kind of money ... That's stupid the dudes already on the decline and if you wanted "solid veteran leadership" you can potentially go out and get 2-3 guys for 14 mil ...instead of pouring all of that into one big bloated contract

14 million a year is a lot money i agree, but it is Sacramento. They do not have a track record of getting huge free agents to come here and whether you think Iggy is on the decline or not, he is one of the most sought after free agents for a reason. The guy is a great fit on any team and fills the Kings biggest need at SF. He also has a connection with the Kings new coach (Mike Malone) and the New GM. They know what they would be getting with Iguodola. If they have overpay a little bit to attract him, then they will do it. They are taking babysteps to try get themselves relevant.

I am not saying this makes them relevant butI'd rather have Iguodola for 14 mil year than say some one like kevin martion/jj redickwho just signed 7 million a year deal and another player of that caliber.

You don't have true PG on the kings... I wish people would stop falling in love with position names ... You can still run a 3 guard set with Reke ... Since he's the primary or secondary ballhandler and probably your best playmaker .... Same type of role Houston uses Harden

Trust me when I tell you ... Change dosent always = good

do you watch Kings basketball?

Comparing Reke's role to Harden's is a mistake in so many ways.

Reke has a low BBall IQ. Sure he can get into the lane but he doesnt possess the ability to kick it out to shooters and make his teammates better.

He hasn't improved in four years. I want guys on this team that can make others better. We are trying to build a different culture and team here. Status quo doesnt make sense.

I was going to try to but I can't really take your post serious when you say something like "tyreke hasn't improved at all in four years"

Then Have the nerve to question my basketball knowledge ..lol

That's clearly a person that dosent know what they're taking about ...

Like I said before ... This has been a real interesting off season .... Lot of teams making some real interesting moves ...we'll see how these fans feel about this action by mid season ... Lol

I'm a huge Tyreke Evans fan. To be honest, if you think that he has improved, you have no idea what you are talking about. Tyreke was awesome his rookie year, and has kept at a steady pace since then. He hasn't improved in anything really. Everything he's able to do now, he was doing it his rookie year, if not better. I'm really hoping we can keep him because I don't believe we have seen the best of Tyreke Evans just yet. He is only 23 years old and I think his best basketball is ahead of him. All he needs is a right coaching staff and players around him. Which is what the Kings are doing right now.

looks like i win this round again.

Lol Melo took the nuggets to the conf finals .... Iggy? Mehhhhh first round BOUNCE to the warriors ...lol

Iverson took the 6ers to finals ..Iggy? Never got his team outta the first round ... Never for his team over .500..lol

You know what ... You actually might be on to something .... He is a culture changer after all ... He takes championship contending teams and burries them stuck in the first round

Good eye guy ..... You really spotted that one out there

iggy is not the second coming of lebron james. hes a good two way player who will be a calming veteran presence, something sacramento has been lacking since the days of rick adelman. thats all im trying to say. dont know why you are so caustic and confrontational. :(

I'm hardly confrontational ... If i come across that way it pelrobably due to the fact that im just a blunt realist ... In actuality I stay about 5 mins away from Arco Arena ( sorry I'm not calling tht place anything else) and the kings have a bit of a soft spot for me even tho I'm a bulls fan ... The reality is just the guy is an average player who is definately not worth that kind of money given the circumstances of the kings current situation .. Now on a contending team he'd be great ... But 14mil on a .500 caliber squad is a farce to say the least ... He's not a "culture changer" he's a solid vet that has a few skills ....I just don't get why people are overstating his value

Do the Kings have any Rob Pelinka clients on their current roster? I know he is ticked right now.

@WojYahooNBA: Denver's shown no inclination to match $14M per offer, and Iguodala wasn't ready to tell the Kings 'Yes," sources tell Y! So, Kings bailed.

@RealGM: Looks like Kings used Mark Cuban's 24-second shot clock negotiation tactic from Shark Tank on Iguodala and it didn't fly.

They were overpaying him and gave him a 24 hour notice to decide to say yes, he wasn't ready, so they've moved on. I don't see anyone else giving him that type of money. Good luck, Iggy.
