I would easily pay Lillard what Bledsoe got and then some.

From a skill standpoint or what?
The only concern I have with Bledsoe and that money is his health.

Skills... Not lacking probably right behind Westbrook as the best two way pg

From a point of reality. I would only take Curry/CP3/Parker/Westbrook/Lillard/Irving/maybe Wall over a "healthy" Bledsoe and I would definitely endorse this 70 mil guaranteed deal if I knew he would be healthy, but not with his injury history and risk.

Bledsoe's (Rich Paul's) stance all summer was, "Give me the max or i will play on the QO". The max he could have got was 5/$84M ($16.8M per year).

With time running out they finally called the FO and started wheeling and dealing. Suns came up $2M per year from the original 4/$48M ($12M a year offer) and Bledsoe dropped his down $2.8M per year from the 5/$84M that he was hard-lining for ($16.8M per year). All and all, Bledsoe will be making $14M per year, which really isnt that bad, specially with the new TV deal going into place next season and talk of the salary cap ballooning to close to $80M.

That explains it cheers. Think Suns did well all things considered.

I am dissapointed by PHXs front office.. This deal could set back the franchise for quite some years.. Those knees and the consequences of the injuries cant be trusted..
I hope they view him as an asset (we know how well that gone for Morey) and trade him when given a not-bad deal.. one can hope...

I have all the utmost faith in our Training/Medical staff. They had to have given the green light for Bledsoe. They have taken former great broken players and rejuvenated their careers. They have also given the thumbs down to players that we have passed on (and have later seen them go down playing for another team).

Thats the only reason why i didnt write extremly dissapointed :D
The thing is, that injuries like he had can be treated well and rehabbed well, with the right protocol and knowledge. I am sure they were rehabbed well in his Suns tenure, but you can only do so much of fixing of the mistakes by the previous teams..
As a strength and conditioning "pro" i would be extremely cautious of him.. I just really hope the managment trusted the S&C staff and didnt overrule their decisions.. Lets be optimistic about it :D

On a sidenote, all Coach Calipari has to do is send this pic to potential UK recruits:

This contract won't look so bad as the cap increases. Some projections have the cap ballooning at least 20% when the new TV deal kicks in. That means a $14M/year contract in 2016/17 might be comparable to $11M/year today.

That being said, it's a lot of money for a very unproven player with significant injury risk. The fifth year is a huge win for Bledsoe/Rich Paul.

This is most likely gonna be a great contract in a couple of years. People just love to take what have you done for me lately and project it as the only possible outcome for the future, so if he was injured last year he's gotta be injured for the rest of his contract. Most in these forums did the exact same thing when Steph signed his contract and it's now the best contract in the league. If Phoenix training staff is confident on Bledsoe's knee holding on in the next 5 years I don't see how anyone here is so sure it won't.

If the last year was a team option i would say that the Suns did really well...

And what will they pay Dragic if he maintain his level? 4/60M contract?

It'll take numbers like 5/75M ...and the Suns FO won't even hesitate.

I expected they would get a deal done soon after hearing about the resent exchange between him and the team.

Glad they got this done finally.

So will they keep him or trade him for Rondo ?

I applaud their ownership for spending money on their team but there is no way he is going to stay healthy. Not with his style of play. And if he losses a step because of injuries he doesn't have a good enough skillset to stay as an impactful player.

Not far off, atleast Hayward can stay healthy. Reminds me of the Eric Gordon contract.
