Will Miami retire Lebron's jersey?
I would say in time wounds will heal and common sense will prevail.

Wow, there's been a serious downgrade in the heat fandom on these boards since the flash3/mopper8 days. Lebron will undoubtedly have his jersey hanging in Miami. Those two rings and four finals appearances were on him. He was your mvp, not Wade or Bosh.
Miami would have been irrelevant without him. He's owed at least that much. Stay classy guys.

Damn man, no respect for me? Lol
I agree with everything you said with the exception of Miami's relevance. Riley has never let Miami irrelevant for any period of time.

Why? Carrying LeBron's water shouldn't hurt so much.
ITT, Miami fans get told how to feel about one of their former stars.
Also ITT, Miami fans don't care.
You're just embarrassing![]()
Carry on.
Shameful and1 posting and still can't get any.....

Will Miami retire Lebron's jersey?
Funny how many outside fans want us to retire his number as if our feelings don't matter. The same fans who said that he was queen James, lebronze, and so forth. Same fans who say he had to join up with 2 other all stars to win? Ray Allen saved him. Now say he carried the team and we'd be no where without him. Lebronze has only won 2 rings in 12 years in the league and his 2 finals appearance without Miami he's 0-2 and 2-8 in games won.

P.S we don't really dislike him that much, it's just that we don't need to praise him like God because those 2 rings was the result of a Team effort and the Heat franchise as a whole and not just by LBJ alone!! We cheered for him! We supported him while he was wearing Heat jersey! But those things are in the past.. We move on from Lebron saga. He was just a mercenary, and he was the highest paid player during his tenure here so his production numbers are expected. We are grateful for his 4 years in Miami. Thank you LBJ!! Good luck with CLE

Lebron saw what is heat fans saw in 06 and on the 08 Olympics. A beast!! If lebrone didn't joined we would have added someone else.

Considering the load he carried in the regular and postseasons his last 3yrs there, his pay should have been significantly higher than what both Wade and Bosh were making.

He's doing much more in Cleveland now than he ever did in Miami. At least he's getting those bucks now. Question, If he doesn't bring a title to Cleveland (which is very probable) will you still retire his jersey?

What load? You mean his career averages? I believe maybe I'm in the minority in this but if Lebron played the way he played these finals in 2011 and 2014, Miami would have 4peated with the roster surrounding him.

His last 3 postseasons in Miami he lead the team in MP, PTS, AST and TRB. That doesn't happen in Cleveland (like it did) past season if Kevin Love is healthy for the entire playoffs. LeBron wouldn't have to have been needed to rebound so much.

Yeah, LeBron should have done more in the 2014 Finals to have achieved victory.
Maybe he should have been the one givin' a bunch of games off in the regular season for "maintenance" purposes?

Re: Will Miami retire Lebron's jersey?
I'm torn on this.
As for how other Heat fans feel, its their right to feel any damn way they please, its their fanhood. I'm not going to tell them what to think/feel, and I think others ought to do the same. I think the only fans that can really empathize with a similar situation is Lakers fans with Shaq, where a guy leaves your team after only playing a few years there (Shaq's tenure was longer but still) and everyone sides with/loves the player when he leaves and continues to hate your team.
Its kind of a can't win situation, because if you act too appreciative of LeBron, people call you a LeBron bandwagoner and tease you that your team will never be that good again, but if you act too dismissive of him people claim you're ungrateful and a horrible fan. In general as a fan of Miami sports teams, based on how others treat the fanbase down here (we're all dumb bandwagoners/foreigners to most), I've learned I can't take their view on our fanbase seriously.
Its just the way it is, dumb preconceived notions of entire fanbases, just like if you're a fan of any crappy team in the midwest you're a diehard and the best fan ever, or if you're a fan of a New York or LA team you're too cocky, no matter what the actual case may be.

Re: Will Miami retire Lebron's jersey?
I feel like non-heat fans are more obssessed about how we should feel about Lebron than we are. Most Heat fans are pretty excited about the team we have right now, and are focused on that. We have a pretty good team for next year if we can stay healthy. We'll see how it comes together.
Pat Riley is more important to the heat than Lebron was. Look at what the Heat were before Pat Riley, and look at them now. I mean Lamarcus Aldridge took a meeting with us, and we didn't even have cap space. That's respect. We have a really good owner and president, and that makes a big difference.

If my aunt had a d**k she'd be my uncle. the point is, it DID happen and there's a fairly great chance it happens next year again. Love and Irving are extremely injury prone and outside of these two, there's not much talent. It is just what it is. You are entitled to your mental gymnastics but facts are facts.

Love and Kyrie both suffered the most devastating injuries of their career in the NBA Playoffs last year. Hell, Love had his arm ripped by someone else. Yeah...there is a great chance of that happening again next year, lol.

Don't split hairs, man. It's ubiquitous that both of them are often sidelined by injuries. Whether it's knee problems, back problems, ankle problems, arm problems, the one constant is they often experience some sort of injury. However those injuries arise, there is a great chance they will arise. I'm not hating in the least and I wish them luck but their track records aren't great so the probability that Lebron will be overclocked in the postseason is unfortunately great.
