I'm not the biggest fan of McHale as a coach but he wasn't Houston's biggest problem.

Congrats Rockets fans. Good move although i still think Harden with Lawson in the backcourt won't work-- with any coach. Still, firing McHale was a good start.

After another disappointing 10 games, you will hear trade rumors from Lakers trading their junk for Harden.

The Lakers will give you Hibbert.

Or a package headlined by Swaggy P!

Bet on it!

When's the next time the Celtics play the Raptors?

Who's next to be fired?! I so want Casey to be fired. It hurts how much I want it.

How about Byron Scott? Or is the Tank Nation alive in Lakerland? It also looked like Joerger may of been in trouble, but maybe Mario Chalmers will save his job. Way to go Mario!

Bickerstaff? lol might as well keep McHale

and i never get when teams fire a coach this early. when they do that, it tells me they were never really sure about the guy coming into this season to begin with. So annoying

It's definitely not ideal. But the Rockets had been playing way below expectations. At some point it's about pride. They had championship aspirations. It's just unacceptable.

i agree. but i hated when the Kings did it, and i hate it now

if you aren't happy with these coaches, then get rid of them in the summer. Has anyone ever won a conference or title with an interim coach? its as if you're throwing the season away in November and it's heartbreaking

It's about damage control. Not ideal to do it in Nov, but even worse to do it in March. That you really be throwing your season away. Anyone won a championship with a new coach after all star break?

You are right about it being too late. That's why that contract extension was wrong in every way. Keep in mind, he got his contract extension before the playoff started. Before! Maybe they were trying to lock him into a cheaper contract before the potential playoff success (but I think it was because Harden and Dmo bailing him out in RS), still, big mistake. Mike Malone is a totally different story though, he is a great coach who shouldn't be fired, opposite to McHale.

Pretty sure bickerstaff has the highest winning percentage of coach in NBA history

he's like 8-1.

Mchale wasn't a very good coach to begin with. However, I don't believe its his fault why Harden is shooting 37% FG.
Sometimes I'll start a sentence and I don't even know where it's going. I just hope I find it along the way.

McHale was a pushover from the start that implemented an undisciplined offense, which although good for padding stats and selling tickets with rebuilding teams, ultimately would have never pushed the Rockets over the top. This was a long time coming. The fact that it took this long shows how godly Mchale's people skills are.

You're preaching the gospel now bro - I am not a fan either McHale as a coach, but the center named Dwight Coward, er I mean Howard is the problem. He is lazy, and doesn't want to work at it and I have yet to see any player ever come back just as good from back surgeries and problems.

I think he was the one that replaced Mike Brown til D'antoni showed up for the Lakers. Bicker was better blindfold then those two put together. I still get upset when I think about them morons passing on Phil Jackson for that idiot, but I digress. Bickerstaff is better - I agree

Honestly I think it's just the team they have. A ton of talent, but not cohesive at all. I guess part of that is on the coach, but at some point players have to own up.
