Re: Harrison Barnes
For a few season now I have noticed that Barnes really has no weakness in his game that are glaring. He can shoot the 3, he can post up, he has the fade away, he can go 1v1, he can shoot of the dribble, he can spot up, he can take advantage of a mismatch, he can play defense and rebound. He may not have been doing it a lot mainly cause he was not asked to in GSW. Also he has a strong and athletic body with nice size that allows him to guard 4 potions. He and Green made the death lineup work so well. The problem was to me he did not have confidence in himself and late last season I don't even think GSW had confidence in him. That has changed in Dallas as the offense is ran threw him and I saw Cuban encouraging him after his last to great games.

His ball-handling is a bit shaky (although better than what I'd expected, hearing the comments coming out of GS I thought he could barely dribble the ball) and he isn't a great finisher at the basket. Also lacks a quick first step that helps him explode to the basket, hence he's doing better at PF than SF. When Barnes is doing things decisively and acting quick he's doing well, perhaps he was just overcomplicating and overthinking things in GS when he barely touched the ball and his job was more or less defend, get the ball to Curry/Thompson/Green, make the open shot, and don't screw up anything by yourself.

I didn't believe in him either, and it is extremely early to call him a giant signing. I'm honestly not a hater, and want to be proven wrong, but it wouldn't shocked me if this was just a hot streak.

The butt hurt is strong with this one. Plenty of the other guys had sub par averages over that stretch too.
I watched part of the Lakers game today and the Bucks game; ball in hand the dude is blowing by 3's and 4's with no issues and that was with the likes of Giannis guarding him too. The stroke is looking good too. He has had to carry a big load, its basically him and JJ who can only create their own shots currently on the team.

Not convinced yet. If you check his first four seasons, they are all very similar in terms of averages and efficiency, only his usage increased. This season he is putting up legit superstar stats, which he never did before. I'm not buying it yet. I mean, 33 points on 65%TS, after being around 56%TS consistently for four years? If he can keep this up, it would mean he turned into a superstar from being an All-Star, at the age of 26. Has this ever happened? I don't think it did.

Re: Harrison Barnes
All three of Barnes's 30+ point games occurred while Dirk was out with injury. Barnes became the primary scorer, and also played power forward. It'll be interesting to see if he's able to maintain this level of play at small forward when Dirk is back in the lineup.
Barnes has had a good two-week run, but this could just be a hot streak. Back in January, Chandler Parsons had a very similar hot streak for the Mavs that lasted an entire month. Averaged 20+ ppg, shot 50% from the field, etc.

Go figure, people still can't grasp the fact that playing in the NBA >>>>> playing in College. Yes, 4 years in college gives most a head start on an NBA career and will help a lot of players, but that doesn't mean that they peak faster just because they had 4 years in college.

If you would watch him play, this not just Lillard heating up from outside he is attacking the rim and even among talented rim protectors he is producing points on nearly every attack. He is craftier and knows exactly where to put the ball to maximize his chances of scoring, compared to last season watching him attack the rim its like night and day.

He's a fun player to watch.
It seems like he'll always be in Currys shadow though.
A lot of times I'll even see people here call him "Curry light".
I think the only way for Lillard to escape Currys shadow is if he can lead the Blazers to upset the Warriors in the playoffs.

Coming into November, I was certain about two things: (1) Clinton will beat Trump and (2) Barnes will play horribly with the Mavs. There is a lesson to be learned here.

Curry was always super efficient though, Lillard wasn't. To me, that is a huge difference, and even if agree with you, that's still a huge outlier. Why would you expect it to happen again?

I know, he is actually shooting a sustainable % from three, and what you are saying is true, but it is still a tiny sample size, and for now, I would rather believe that this is unsustainable for him.
