If your team’s rookie but up those numbers at any point this season, most or all of you wouldn’t care if it was against the worst team in the league, you would be generally happy about that performance. Think objectively people. Yes there’s room for a crap ton of improvement, but to score against legit NBA talent on a back to back on his 5th game of actual NBA run (including preseason) is impressive. Stop blaming the kid for his father’s actions

You must have missed Beverley showing out in Game 1 against the Thunder and putting the clamps on Russ throughout the playoff series. That alone means so much more than a game against the little Suns.

Three more points than Bev's career high, on eight more shots. And Beverley isn't known for offense. Good to know we're holding the #2 overall pick to a high standard.

Don't think guard, think team. Zo is an egalitarian distributer. Not a traditional pg like cp3, or a scoring pg like Tony Parker, but a pg built for the transition game. I think this is a new position that Zo just invented. At UCLA, it wasn't the half court where he excelled, it was in transition and often,,, the hockey assist.

That is true, but the hard thing to visualize is what kind of guard plays well with that kind of style. I'm a Wiz fan and we have Beal. I think he'd be very good with a pg like Zo. In fact, I think that Zo's style fits the Wiz better than Wall's. Right now we have Otto Porter who's coming on strong but it's starting to get kind of weird with regards to who gets to be aggressive. Zo's style would really show if you had a squad like Zo (3 or 4 years from now), Beal, Porter, Morris and an athetlic big man like Thompson.

As good as Zo is, shot creating isn't one of his strengths so the players that you surround him with will need to be able to space the floor, be solid on the fast break and create for themselves. Similar to how the Suns were built in Phoenix with Nash. It'll be fun to watch him Zo develop.

I'm not being hyperbolic when I say Zo might be inventing a new position and maybe that's why it's so hard to visualize. Consider,,,, the days of the old pg is gone. Right now we're in the Era of the scoring pg. But even as we speak, positions are getting blurred and centers (cousins) are leading fast breaks. The open court pg, Zo, is a natural to get all these positionless multi talents involved. The result at UCLA was a bump in TEAM passing. I think that's what walton is looking for in Zo.

Eh. How is that different than what the Spurs did a couple years ago? Nonetheless, a bump in "team passing" can only take you so far. Look at what happened to those great ball movement Spurs when they played against OKC that one year. You still had players that can break down there man one-on-one. This is the most important aspect of a good offense.

I was at the game last night and the energy was palpable. And not for the Suns, it was for Lonzo. This kid puts on a show when he touches the ball and the crowd loves it. I honestly haven’t seen anything like it...except for Steph. And maybe Westbrook.

zero Lakers fans have a problem with Lonzo shooting 27 times a game, as long as he's dropping 9 assists and grabbing 11 boards.

let us have this. we've taken a lot of **** and terrible luck for 5 years, so to see something promising is wonderful.

The suns might be the worst defensive team I have ever seen. Last night was just an abomination defensively. Tyson Chandler has given up playing basketball.

If anyone thinks Ball is some savant because of last night then you got a rude awakening. He is not as bad as he was vs the Clippers but he is not as good as last night's numbers suggest.

Suns fans my condolences. I don't know how you can watch your team play defense and not want to throw the remote at the tv.

Stating facts isn't hating. Sorry, but I'm not about to crown Lonzo as the best rookie since LeBron after two unimpressive games. I know people have decided that they feel bad for Lonzo because of his father, but he's still the #2 overall pick, so he needs to be judged by those standards.

Believe me, the Suns aren't tanking right now. This team is so flawed from top to bottom that a bottom 3 finish is being generous.

It's an improvement on his debut, but let's be real.

If its so easy why hasn't another rookie since LeBron put up those stats?

Because the Suns defense is probably an all time top 10 worst defense. They literally don't provide any help defense. NONE.

There were open lanes after open lane and their big would just stand there. A lot of Lonzo's assits came off of wide open shots for his teammates and not because of the set/pass but because the defenders just stopped playing D. I have never seen such a thing. I mean the Suns defense is all time awful.

Context, not excuses. But by all means, keep bragging that a #2 overall pick barely outscored the career high of a #42 overall pick. It just makes you look foolish.

So many Lakers haters.

DLO as the #2 was still young and played on dysfunctional teams and it wasn't his fault.....

Ball as the #2 pick should held held to a higher standard, he played the lowly suns, he ain't good, passing is overrated.

Lol.

Bledsoe has fallen off a clif also. For some reason he doesn’t try defensively either anymore. Earl Watson is horrible and needs to go

Why does that matter? Bev owner Zo the game prior. What is the point here?

I guess I did not make it simple enough. Why do you want to know why this matters to others ?

Lonzo Ball exceeded Beveryly's career high !!!
