The benchmark is now the Kyrie trade. Whatever they gave up for him you add more since they’re practically the same age and Kawhi is comfortably the better player

Let’s remember when it happened it was seen as a lot for Kyrie. In Boston’s case It’d have to be two of Brown/Tatum/Hayward plus at least one lottery pick. As good as brown and Tatum are there’s no guarantee they’ll reach Kawhi level

As opposed to the lakers and Knicks who have free agents lined up wanting to go there right?

Rockets have no problem getting superstars, since the 90s they probably got the most: Drexler, Barkley, Pippen, TMac, Dwight, CP
They'll just get another superstar after CP
They got Harden 2 superstars in 5 years. Harden ain't complaning about "lack of attraction" from the other stars like Kawhi is
N if Lakers or Knicks had Kawhi Leonard on their team, you best believe they would be gettin players as well

they have too much control of the NBA, and them signing woj makes it even worse now. ESPN is the reason why Harden doesnt have 2mvps right now. They have too much power
If Kawhi leaves the spurs for a big market that would be terrible for the NBA
James Harden plays for a major market, and the players who won MVP over him played for smaller markets...in fact OKC is the 2nd smallest market in the NBA after New Orleans.

I saw no quote from Kawhi complaining. His beef is with how his injury was handled, not their roster. Jalen Rose isn't Woj all of a sudden.

Great to see all those superstars brought the Rockets so many rings over the past 20 years

Thats a different subject. Spurs got lucky that they drafted their 3 guys (Duncan, Parker, Manu), n didn't need to look to sign any star players. We see now when they "have" to, they got issues with it. Kawhi obviously knows it

Literally all of the guys you named where traded to the rockets.
Who’s the last big name FA the Knicks or lakers signed again? Shaq? Lol

Um CP would of came anyway, Dwight came as the biggest FA on the market that year, Pippen came as FA, Barkley wanted to get traded to Houston to try to win with Hakeem n Drexler, Drexler wanted to get traded to Houston. The only guy is TMac, who also had no problem with it since he wanted to play with Yao.
Like i said if the Lakers had Kawhi Leonard they wouldn't have any issues gettin players. You'll see if George ends up going there

Aren't you being semantic though? A sign and trade is an act of free agency, so CP3 did sign with Houston. Dwight Howard flat out signed with them in FA, he was not traded or sign & traded.
Drexler and Barkley demanded trades, so they had a decision in where to go.
STAT signed with NYK in FA, and Carmelo Anthony demanded a trade to go to NYK. When you consider NYK were a lotto team with no great prospects it means that they signed just to play in NYK (eventually signed Tyson Chandler as well).
Steve Nash signed with the Lakers.
And yeah, guys like STAT and Nash ended up becoming heavily injured but those were competitive signings at the time.
Not sure what your standard is for big name if players like STAT and CP3 don't count. Are you saying that if they don't have an MVP they're not a big name?

Everybody knew Nash was washed when the lakers signed him and Stat was signed because the Knicks couldn’t get the guys they originally wanted. He was a huge risk considering he had been coming off knee injuries which is why the Suns were happy to let him walk for the money he got. Melo wanted to be in his hometown which is the same as Drexler. All I’m saying is that the location doesn’t matter. What matters is whether the team is competitive or not, which is why Barkley, Pippen, Paul etc wanted to be in Houston and it’s also why guys like KD and Paul considered the Spurs over the Knicks and lakers. I mean if they would’ve signed wouldn’t they have attracted others likes screwston said? And if you’re going to count guys that we’re already washed like Barkley why not count LMA and Gasol?

Steve Nash was not washed up at all, he lead an awful Suns team to a winning record in the West.
I do count those guys. LaMarcus Alrdige was probably the biggest free agent who was likely to move when the Spurs signed him.
Competitiveness does matter a lot more than location, I agree with that.

Bro you got Kawhi who's a top 5 player, LMA, one of the greateast coaches of all time (if not the best), winning pedigree, n your biggest signing is Rudy Gay

For a team that's already elite, getting Rudy Gay is pretty good. Not sure why you're dogging SAS. They have gotten notable players in the past 5 years through free agency.
