If Cleveland could somehow bring in another piece, I think LeBron would re-sign with the Cavs. But, I don't know if they have any way of doing it apart from trading K. Love.

i think you undererstimate his greediness

Is letting Lebron and Kawhi go to Philly when you have a chance to stop it greed or stupidity?

I'm not sure that wins anymore. I'm not even sure it ever did, but Philly getting that MIA pick definitely makes them more compelling than before. Brown might be better than Fultz (I know you're going to scoff but it's eye-of-the-beholder right now), and the SAC pick may be better than the MIA pick (much closer), but then you have the rest of Philly's package, including two forwards who can complete their starting lineup. Even if Boston wins one value (and I'm not sure they do), they don't win on fit anymore.

Rozier is a much better fit next to Murray with his ability to play on and off the ball than Fultz. Morris is a solid.

I will agree to disagree. But a Celtics package with those those assets would seem to outbid Philly pretty easily. That’s not even factoring in potential sign and trade scenarios for Marcus Smart.

Murray/Mills/Parker(likely)
Green/Manu/Walker

Don’t see Rozier or Smart doing anything for the Spurs there’s not even the upside of Fultz.

I guess we'll know how interested Lebron is with Philly if we start hearing the 76ers going hard after kawhi this afternoon.

Yeah, it will be interesting if we hear anything about Philly wanting Kawhi this summer...

I just think it's too big of a swing in power for him to ignore. The Celtics best chance at advancing in the playoffs for the next 5 years is to stop Philly from turning into a superteam.

mini nyc? lol - more like micro super micromini nyc.

I mean yes, every city is significantly smaller than NYC in America. But Philly is not exactly a ghost town, I don't know why people here act like Philly is such a poor destination - it really isn't and historically speaking it hasn't been, players don't go to Philly now because they have sucked for a really long time not because it's a small market (it's like the 5th biggest city in USA).

Let me parachute into this swamp.

I was in Center City Philly recently and people were literally forced to walk in the street because the sidewaks were overflowing with people. I overheard a suit saying to a companion are you sure we didn't land in Manhattan and not Philly? Its a thriving downtown that if you dropped anywhere else in the country including the west coast it would become that areas cultural mecca.(Only exception might be Chicago) People would say OMG so this is what a City is supposed to look and act like.

And its an hours drive from some of the best beaches on the east coast(South Jersey). No offense to Cleveland but for Woj to compare Philly as a lateral move from Cle was pretty ignorant. Philly is the 4th largest Media Market in the USA not that far behind Chicago. Its closer to Chicago than Bos/SF is to Philly in regards to Media Market Size.

The appeal of LA continues to not be what it used to be...

No longer how much Media tries to market it collectively so they can get more money and comfort with superstars involved, and celebs... they're just manufacturing stories, conflictng against eachother, and working with eachother to get their money and fill their quotas at the end of the day.

Everyone who buys into all of it with all the "sources" are just suckers and feeding into Media with ease.

TOO BAD. Paul George not even meeting with LA shows this, once again.

There are no special reservations for LA, its just another city in the NBA until they get dominant and a dynasty again.

I have to tell you the national Media trying to make out like LA was the only possible destination for the BIG 2 (Lebron Paul George) was annoying.

Lebron in Philly makes them the favorites in the EC even without Kawhi. With Kawhi, they might be favored to win the chip.

I don't see why Lebron would go to LA to play on a team that might not be better than the Timberwolves.

I just have a hard time seeing Ainge letting Kawhi go to Philly knowing that LeBron will follow. Boston can easily trump any other offer out there. I think the second Ainge gets whiff of a possible trade being done with Philly, he will come in and squash it.

The Lakers are playing a dangerous game and it’s one they are playing publicly: There’s a lot of scrutiny and they are, to borrow a phrase from Sixers coach Brett Brown, “star-hunting.” The margin of error is thin.

Yes, the Lakers are still favorites—but not total locks—to sign LeBron James, league sources say. For what it’s worth, some executives believe LeBron’s indecision is all theater, and he has already decided on the Lakers as his new team.

I really don't think he can easily beat any offer, and I also don't think Pop would play Brett that way. A good old-fashioned bidding war is one thing. Snaking out at the last second is another.

Lakers media is pathetic.
Every year its the same shtick. Start up rumors that some big name FA will sign with them. How shameless can you get....

-Trade Love to POR for McCollum
-Sign Dwight Howard

Sexton/Hill/Clarkson
McCollum/Smith/Osman
James/Korver
Nance Jr./Green (re-signed)
Howard/Thompson/Zizic
