He's a rookie. Can't say Luka coming off a sharpshooter is such a great idea either. If Trae sees Huerter open in the corner, Luka looks just as bad.

Maybe he will be able to see him and dish that pass in about 5-10 years

You mean in 5-10 secs because all he has to do is keep driving around instead of going up and it's an easy pass.

I think there was a joke implied and you completely missed it

If it takes him a decade, the Hawks still lost the trade.

You know why.

All like “you know why “ i could say the same thing about him getting all the love from whites and hyping him like he’s the next MJ or bron

Well...he's actually doing LeBron things. Like 35-12-10 triple-doubles at 19...

Why the unfounded hate though? Hmm...

Trae young made alex freaking len relevant ... I know its the hawks but still Alex len was jacks#!t in phx.

Trae young will make everyone else in his team better i can guarantee that.

what do you expect him to say that the hawks made a mistake? even you wont admit that

Don't feed em. Len is doing a lot more than just tip-ins and putbacks in Atlanta. He is getting more jumpers, more open 3s, more post-ups. He is being asked to do a lot more. Just look at the data.

https://www.basketball-reference.com/players/l/lenal01.html#shooting::none

https://stats.nba.com/player/203458/boxscores-traditional/

Click on the FGA, they have all of the video of the misses and makes of this season. If you look at all of his charts from last year, he barely got any touches. He was just an alley, tip-in, putbacks type of guy in PHX. The way he is used now is just more advanced. Of course he took a hit but that's what is suppose to happen. He isn't as good on hook shots as he is dunking a ball with no one around him.

Please do me a favor, if a poster is not presenting data and kinda posting things that make no sense with no context, just don't argue, just look at the data. It's available on nba.com. They got everything.

okay point taken i love luca he is better than simmons all around tbh but how much more would he improve ??? is he going to be like kawhi on defense while getting better over all.. Trae young has a lot of room to improve.. and i doubt luca will be a stud defensively ...

once trae shoots more efficient and passing he is way better than luca then its all about winning.. steve nash wasnt good defensively but he made everyone else better and if you think trae young cant do that then i rest my case...

He's a 28% three-point shooter, so not sure that's beneficial...

I'm ready for your next hot take. Is Len the next Malone to Young's Stockton?

I mean...literally every metric and stat verifies this...

His PER is worse. His TS% is worse. His rebound % is worse. His BPM is worse. His VORP is worse. His block % is up...so there's that...

It sucks he got sucked into a question like this which makes it seems like he made this claim when really he was just asked a question and he simply answered it. And yup, you can't really say anything about his response. What do you expect him to say?

but he could have pivoted the question though... I would have said something like I don't care about being better than luka in 5-10 years, but I care about being the best player I can be and hopefully one of the best, if not best player in the league.

For context: I'm a Hawks fan, wanted Luka in the draft, and recognize Luka has been phenomenal this year and a much better player...

I believe Trae to be the better passer, think he's better at getting to the rim AND finishing, can be less of a defensive liability FOR HIS POSITION, and will be at least a comparable shooter. I also think he'll be easier to build around.

I do think these will be the two best players from the draft fwiw, so this ain't the last time we'll talk about it

I reckon that Luka has a more positive impact while on the court than off than Trae but I don't have any stats to back this up, just conjecture :)

he is a grown man and he can say what he can say, why scrutinise someone so much for what he said, it's a damn sport, you got way more important ppl saying way worse **** all day long that actually affects the world.

the thing is, as an athlete in the NBA you need to have upmost confidence in yourself, and Trae's got that, plus he is a mature young kid.
