People receiving hospital treatment continue to overwhelmingly be unvaccinated, with 78 per cent without a single dose and 17 per cent partially vaccinated.

But honestly this just shows the anti-vax mindset. Find a 12-second clip without context on twitter and that's good enough.

Who is that and what’s his background?

Why do you feel a one day sample size is indicative of anything?

Do you often take medical advice from tweets?

Martin Foley, Melbourne's Health Minister. What do sample sizes have to do with the fact that 78% in one day were vaccinated cases? See you did that tribal thing there where you refuted it before you even had all the info.

Please tell me O'Lord where I can source this information from and where I can't as apparently words coming out of the man's mouth aren't good enough for you.

Nuance and context have to do with a lot. I simply asked basic questions and you went on the defensive. Why is that? If you present a tweet as some kind of medical advice or guidance of anything, people will ask basic questions.

And why did you ignore DIRK’s post?

Ah, and the truth of the matter is that he misspoke. Now do you see why it’s important to ask basic questions?

Oh yeah - you were just politely asking questions....... right.

Your response was expected. I haven't even looked at the other post yet, I'm addressing you sport.

The man is the health minister of Melbourne. The words LITERALLY came out of his mouth - how am I supposed to know he can't read his cards right?

Yes, that's the typical response when you don't know who's talking

Especially since you also didn't seem to know at first, since your post describes him as:
enigmatics wrote:From somewhere in Australia......

So either you knew who he was and intentionally didn't say in order to provoke a response so you could get defensive, or you didn't know who he was at first.

So you took a 12 second tweet as Gospel, presented it as something with substance and it’s everyone else’s fault when you get called out on it? Even after once the facts were laid bare that the man you tweeted misspoke?

No no, wrong course of action. Just admit you were wrong, and move on. And if you want to cherry-pick small sample sizes while ignoring all the other data out there, at least go with that hospital in Israel. Sample size of 72 people or something, but at least it's real.

PSA:

Dumping random tweets here is discouraged if it's just aimed to provoke. Do some minimal research to verify the sources.

No one should be wasting their time verifying the tweets one posts or worse... no one should be duped into discussing bogus tweets.

Don't clutter the topic.

If you find yourself suspended, all you had to do is read the OP and stop posting garbage.

Thanks!

I get that. This wasn't some casual blog site or getting the info directly from GSJr. But clearly we're now in the stage where I have to fact check the Melbourne Health Minister because of supposed "data entry errors" from a private 3rd party.

I imagine if you would’ve gone to the Health Ministry’s social media or website instead of just a random anti Vaxxers Twitter clip you could’ve gotten the correction and the context

As stated previously - now I know I have to fact check even a health minister's own press conferences to make sure there wasn't a data entry error.

It’s too much to ask that you correct incorrect information you presented as fact?

dude took this thing and hit the ground running, trying to use whatever "evidence" necessary to support his own illegitimate theories on covid. the kicker was getting all uppity he's being called out on it after that the dude misspoke LOL

let's be real. this stuff is the best you got. and you understand you're being disingenuous but you don't want to look even more ridiculous than you already do, in the face of all data, science, and logic. because if you actually cared for the facts you'd go "hmm, that's so weird, a government health official is saying the opposite of what EVERYONE else is saying. why is that? i should check it out." instead of using it as the "ah HA GOTCHA" moment you've been waiting all this time for.

Appreciate that admission. Disregard my previous post. We’re all learning how to navigate through the COVID discussion. Thanks again—no love lost.

Critical thinking. If something is a massive outlier, maybe apply some critical thinking?
