Barkley is chewing Russ out for the weak double on Jackson. Westbrook let Jackson spin towards the basket instead of closing him out on the baseline.

It was horrible defense caused by Russ messing up the double team trying to go for a steal putting him out of position.

Nah it was fine. I think the timing on the spin was perfect. Russ was coming to trap and he got out just before. I think Davis could have been lower, no chance Reggie would be able to pass out to a cutter there.

Dude he timed it perfectly because Russ was out of position. Had he not gone for a steal and just went for a double the spin wouldn't be there.

How is this good defense by Russ? He tried to go for a steal putting him in a bad angle to double. Who the **** goes for a steal there in the first place?

That last defensive possession by Russ highlights exactly why he's not a winning player when it matters. He always, ALWAYS, makes some bone headed decision that costs his team. Just double the man and play some D, that's all they need and instead he chooses to gamble for a steal, allowing Reggie to spin and get essentially a wide open lay up.

Yeah I’ve been a big defender of Russ but some of his decisions are indefensible.

First rule of defense is stay between the man and the basket…

That’s all he had to do there.

If he does that, Reggie has to pass or settle for a deep shot and probably misses.

I give him credit he came up big in the 4Q...But it's been far too many of these crucial end of game mistakes by him. It's honestly not a effort thing. He just lacks discipline.

Time expired when the ball hit the rim…

There wasn’t time to risk going all the way to the rim.

It was a good shot in those conditions.

Agreed. In most scenarios I’m sure it doesn’t go in that deep before rimming out.

Lakers fans have to be hopeful. AD looks like hes back to being a top 10 player, the Lakers fought hard two games in a row, and would have gone 2-0 without LeBron against tough teams in the Blazers and Clippers.

You get LeBron healthy and added to the mix and they are without question contenders if they can play like this when hes out there.

If Blazers and Clippers are tough teams we’re in a heap of trouble.

While AD definitely looks good, keep in mind the competition they were playing- a Blazers team with Lillard and the Clippers without PG, Kawhi, and Zubac

Russ was out of position but you have to think of the context of the play, no one was completely back yet. Russ was watching and took to long to trap but then he runs to trap just as Reggie spins. Russ launches for a steal after he's already too late.

This was a bang-bang play and you have to credit Reggie for spinning when he did honestly. It wasn't great defense but it was bad either.

I mean, have you watched this Lakers team?

Melo is one of their best players. They are awful and have been all season. Half the vets don't deserve the minimum pay they have.

Lol, Bulls had 4 key guys out (2 starters and 2 best bench guys) in the last 2 times we played and Lavine with a bum back - which he could have sat out - even then Bulls are 2-1.

Imagine Bulls playing healthy basically vs Raptors when 2 of VanVleet/OG/Siakam/Barnes are out and 2 of your key bench players are out. Don't you think Bulls would be blowing the Raptors out???

I remember that, game 1. Bulls won by 3 while Raps missed their best player. Crazy to me that teams are making injury excuses....everybody has been injured all year, including the raps against your Bulls, lol.

You must not be paying attention because the Suns have been injury savaged this season with Ayton and Crowder just coming back from injuries yet are leading the league at 40-10.
