I'd like to start by saying I know next to nothing about FIBA. But I watched the Spain v Finland and Greece v Germany and I can't help but think Germany has the superior roster vs Spain. Almost vastly better with quality NBA names. The moment I saw that Giannis had to go against Wagner, Theis, Schroder I knew it was a wrap. Then the Obst boy goes off looking like Mark price lol.

So why are people saying Spain when Germany looked great out there. Is it the Hernangomez bros or Rudy?

Germany definitely looks better on paper, but maybe I am wrong, cause I really don't know some of the Spanish players, but that doesn't necessarily mean they are worse, that Diaz kid for example looked amazing. But Spain has experience, pedigree and coaching on their side. I think its fair to say that Lithuania looked better on paper too, no question, but it didnt matter, SPain keep rolling.

They had closer and Lithuania didn't, thats what comes down to it.

Greece have done bad work on defending 3 pointers. They are also too small and too bad at shooting 3's. How this team got this far?

Yeah they were truly horrible defending the 3, Germany did very lite screening, movement to get open 3s before they were even hot. I was missing the great defence,tactics Spain showed in perimeter defending. Third quarter they were very slow, shooting 3s when their shooters sucked with 3s every game. Giannis is great but no one can score vs 5 with no space at all.

germany as team over 40% from 3 for the 7 games so far...franz has shot over 50% from 3 ..if that sucks whats good?

Ah no!
I meant Greece sucked shooting 3s as every Greek fan in the Eurobasket threads complained about before I saw every group game of theirs. Germany have many good shooters, falling into a 3pt contest with a team shooting over 40%, Franz Wagner 50% etc was really bad idea. First half they played more into the strengths,pace for Giannis.

This Italian team went from being laughed off as total outsiders to eliminating 2 of the favored teams in the whole tournament. I can see them winning here as things stand.

Fournier is just underqualified for the role France need of him, hes not off the dribble finisher. This was the case for years with Marco Belinelli and Italy, good player, but used to always flame out with azzurri uniforms

This summer campaign for France is an absolute roller coaster ! So much undiscipline in this team, but ... we have a big ego and we're back to -3pts ... i'm so tired !!

Man Fontecchio has made some tough threes. He really looks like he could be another Bogdanovic for the Jazz.

France is a bit of headscratcher on offense. They rotate the ball really well but Yabusele ends up with the 3 point shot, while they have Tarpey, Heurtel and Fournier on the floor.

I find the Italian coach terribly annoying, but the way he hugged Fontecchio after those missed FTs just looked genuine and wholesome.
