The Cavs have no other choice, they have no one on the roster who is truly a SF.davidfr94 wrote:You can't play levert more than 20 min constantly and expect to win a playoff games.
That guy is a liability on both ends.
Yeah mobley is struggling offensively but IS still very good defensively. Randle just can't score at all.
Allen on the other side needs to do more and doesn't have the first Time in the playoff excuse. He atleast needs to be dominant defensively for the cavs to have a chance.
16 offensive rebonds when you play with to 7 footers ? That's inexcusable.
I thought the Knicks were kind of underrated this year. If Barret becomes just an ok shooter and they add a star, they're legit.
Just don't sell the farm for a flawed/injury prône type of player (lavine for ex)

That depends on your perspective & how we define "better team". Since NA sports prioritize the tournament more than the league, how you do over the course of the full-season isn't as important as how you do in the post-season tournament; so we often use "better team" to mean the team that does better in the post-season tournament.
In world football it's the reverse, the tournament is secondary because it is more dependent on matchups and small sample sizes; while the more important trophy is given to the team who does best in the league. So in football being the better team means being the better team throughout the season, and not just who finishes the year better.
Cleveland had the better season this year, so over the course of the full season (from my perspective) they were the better team...but we match up with them well head-to-head and we finished the campaign playing better after thibs shortened the rotation & the FO brought in Hart.
Could be, but we can't know that for sure. Maybe if we had him all year he'd have started to run out of steam by now, or gotten hurt. Luckily you don't need to be the better team to win a head-to-head matchup played out over the course of two weeks; so who the better team was doesn't tell us who will win the series.
But we should be able to understand why neutrals who didn't follow either team would have thought that the cavs were the better team, with the bigger names, and so voted for them before the series. That doesn't prove an anti-knicks bias so much as a pro-higher-seeds-with-bigger-names bias.
Its not a question for me. We WOULD BE better with him. Especially with all those close games we lost.

Why would he run out of gas? He's played this way his entire career. He didnt just atart playing this way for the Knicks. And coming off the bench for us he wouldn't get tired ...even starting I dont think he would ..he's motor is extremely high.
And of course I'm assuming he'd be healthy....he's not Zion or Greg Oden.

Because he's always gotten banged up before? His career high prior to this season was 67 games & 1791 minutes. The only other season he averaged 30mpg or more (like he has for us) he lasted for just 54 games; which is less than Anthony Davis played this year.

Knicks look legit. I swear I remember a thread a few months ago comparing these two teams and the Knicks got no respect, but I could be mistaken.

As it stands we are 6-2 against these guys this season.
Our first loss came back in October in a game where Fournier was still starting and Kevin Love had EIGHT 3’s (you read that right, 8) off the bench lol
Second loss was during this series where we played some our worst basketball of the season against a Garland career night. Both W’s had fluke written all over them. We’re just the better team.
Series should be over in 5 as long as our guys show up in Cleveland and remember how to play basketball.

yeah fairly confident the series ends tomorrow. don’t want to get to ahead of myself but it’s just clear to me at this point the cavs just genuinely don’t have any solution to stopping jalen brunson… or our bigs on the boards

I'm disappointed in this Cavs team. They clearly miss a floor general/leader on the court.

Mitchell shooting 27.8% with more turnovers than made baskets or assists has fluke written all over it too. Cavs win game 4 if he even has an average game.

He played an average game on game 3, look how that turned out for the Cavs.

Re: 2023 Eastern Conference | Round 1 | (4) Cleveland Cavaliers VS. (5) New York Knicks (Knicks lead 3-1)
I’ve heard from a few executives in the last 72 hours as the Cavs have fallen a little bit apart kind of parroting the line of, how come they didn’t do anything at the trade deadline? Look at the Knicks who went out and got Josh Hart: traded a first round pick, real stuff for Josh Hart, Cam Reddish and these people are saying why couldn’t the Cavs, like… they didn’t really want to upgrade their team at all? Like, what were they doing? On the one hand, they looked around. I heard names worse than Josh Hart. I heard Joe Harris who can’t make a shot in the playoffs for whatever reason.
But you look at the Cavs, they don’t have any first round picks to trade. They traded them all for Donovan Mitchell. They literally cannot trade a first round pick. They have some extra seconds, but they’re like Warriors seconds and other seconds. They don’t have much fungible salary that anybody wants. They’re also only a million dollars under the tax, so the easiest way to make your team a little bit better on the margins – which is all they need – is like, who wants to cut money? Who wants to give us a decent player and to cut your tax bill? They can’t even do that.
I’m sure there must have been some move they could’ve done. There’s always some move you can do, I just don’t know what it was. I know they were looking around at wings at the middle, bottom of the barrel. They didn’t get any because they don’t have much to trade.

Dare I say this Cavs team is kinda soft.
Just curious what made you think they had the talent edge. Talent is the manifestation of productivity. Brunsons game translates into wins better than the volume scoring of Mitchell. I'd argue Mitchell is the flashier player, but more talented... hardly...
