Wolves are up next,

Murray/MPJ/Gordon are all beta role.

They found someone more ready and more talented. Retool and try again. No reason to deem Jokic a bust now or cry until we drown in tears.

Jokic isn't getting hurt and missing playoff games.

They desperately need a backup for him.

They ran 6 guys basically. Everyone has gassed in the second half. That just doesn't work.

Yeah it's not like the second best player scored 35 points, right? It's not like the teammates played elite defense on Ant limiting him to 16 points right?

The final score was 98 to 90...what league were you watching where scoring 1/3 of your team points lead to a 60 point final score in a close game? Even Detroit Spurs in the finals were consistently getting into the 70's. This was scoring like you might have seen with the bad boy pistons and jordan bulls.

Their bench did play some during the season, they even played in other games in this series. Malone basically had a 6 man rotation last night.

I recall 11 months ago, Jokic & Murray were being compared to some of the best duos in NBA history, Kobe-Shaq, MJ- Pippen, Magic/ Kareem, Bird-McHale

Now, Jokic needs help…. Tsk tsk ..

The bench scored 5 points for Denver.

This was a winnable game for Denver. They were up 20 in the third quarter.

This year's roster is meaningfully weaker than last years. That's been a talking point since the summer. That's literally been the most discussed thing about the Nuggets all year is how they could figure out this bench and improve because without doing so most of us thought this would happen.

For their careers, Jamal Murray currently averages more playoff PPG than the following players:

Tatum
Brunson
Irving
Harden
Derozan
SGA
Butler
Kawhi
PG
Klay
Haliburton
Siakam

Murray may not have made an all-star team but he plays like one in the playoffs. You’re not going to find many guys who will give you better 2nd option production than Murray who has career playoff averages of 24/6/5 on 57 TS% as well as double digit 35+ point games.

This is more of a chicken or egg question. He’s taking them because he’s open but he’s open because the defense wants him to take them. He was also completely exhausted for the whole second half.

Sure but either way the point stands. Nuggets had to have known this stat but couldn't get out of not playing into its hand at the worst time.

Jokic played nearly every minute. Not only the bench but starting unit needs bolstering.

They do but I don’t like how Malone coached these playoffs. Not playing Peyton Watson at all was a big mistake. At least spell a few minutes for Jokic and lean on a high energy defensive lineup to tread water when he’s out.

100% was. And then in the second half Gordon, Caldwell-Pope, and MPJ scored 3 points with 7 fouls. The bench added 2 more points and 1 more foul. Guys not named Jokic and Murray scored 5 points with 9 fouls.

Denver lost on the boards in the second half 29 to 15. Jokic wasn't great with only 4 boards but as a team they were dominated there too.

Naz Reid guarded Jokic 1 on 1 and blocked his shot in crunch time.

Poor Jokic his teammates couldn't help him from getting his shot blocked. Had that man gassed in crunch time. Poor Jokic teammates didn't bring enough energy to help cover for Jokic's stamina.
