We’re back baby!!

I’m ok bro ? Nets getting bad injury prone player on a bad contract and one pick 7 years from now and I celebrate ?

Well I know I’ll root for Denver this year and Pacers again in East

Honorable mention, I’ll root against the Knicks for sure again

Lot of basketball ignorance here, people who don't think Cam J is good or that MPJ is a scrub

Cam Johnson: $22M/year
MPJ: $38M/year

Both are injury prone, but this at least freed the Nuggets up to improve their depth by adding Bruce.

Now the only question is which Bruce you’re getting

Is it Nets/Nuggets high energy amazing role player Bruce

or is it Indiana/Toronto shell of his former self disinterested lazy Bruce

I'm hoping it's the former. He got his money ($40M) but at the price of playing on bad teams. He'll get to reprise his old role as the main 6th man off the bench. But obviously that is a concern.

If he wants another contract in neighborhood of 30-40 m over 2 or 3 years he needs to be a solid sixth man again

Good move for Denver. Cam is a better fit and they are going to save a grip of money.

You have Jokic on your team, who cares about a 2032 pick?

Both are good , but Cam have way better contract, MPJ well he’s not going nowhere with the current Nets anyways

One of the trades that can actually benefit both clubs in the very very long run as the pick is 7 years out

They needed to do something. MPJ just seemed kinda checked out even before the injury. Cam Johnson is a decent fit with Denver and bringing Bruce Brown back is a plus. I don't know that they could've done better given MPJ's massive contract.

Farewell MPJ :(

Denver is now just 1 player away from winning the 2026 championship :D

I value Cam more because he competes defensively, but let's just assume that they are equal. Health wise MPJ has a degenerative condition, which is different from Cam's injuries.

Denver did pretty well, in my opinion. Getting 40m for your pick is a good business.

Wow! I love this for the Nuggets! They make a big improvement with defense, passing, playmaking, and reliability without hurting their spacing at all! This is a home run! Combine it with the Brown signing and they have to be the 2nd best team in the NBA now!

Cam Johnson's problem is games played, he averages 57/season and his most is 66/82

Porter has played back to back 81 and 77, but he makes a lot more than his impact.

Denver doesn't do it if not for the money saving, Nets if not for the pick, works for both in a sense, but there is caution for a contending team like Denver with a guy who misses even more games. MPJ played 9 games one season, and outside of his first season where he missed all games, averaged 57.5 games, so the same.

Crazy get for Denver. They won this trade and it's not even close.

Yup. This trade is a coup for Denver. They get a better player and $17m on to add someone else via trade exception or sign a full MLE player.

MPJ is not good at all. It would be negligent to not trade a pick 7 years out for this kind of upgrade when you have Jokic in his prime.

This is my thinking. If the nuggets had Johnson instead of Porter during the playoffs, it isn’t unreasonable to think they beat the Thunder.

He's going to need to be the best shape of his life for 41 regular games in the altitude, never mind the playoffs.

This doesn't really move Denver any further, they save money though.

The Nets get a pick I guess... I hope we're competing before 2032.

It’s not that MPJ is a scrub. It’s that he’s overpaid, injury prone, and the only thing he does is shoot. It’s really hard to win with a player like that making the kind of money he makes in the new CBA.
