He's basically becoming Kyrie in BRK. But the difference is, Kyrie has always been able to play with everyone and he was individually respected by his peers in the league. Im not sure if Ja has that same love and I very much question his fit on a lot of teams

Kyrie went for DFS and a 1st. Off court issues combined with injury concerns are hard to overcome. If Memphis could get the Bane deal for Ja, i think they wouldve already done it. If they wanna move him, its not gonna be for a lot, but they probably still should move him. They got a decent young core building with edey/coward and some of the other guys (Wells/Aldama) and like 4 1sts coming from Orlando. Culture is a big deal

Yeah Heat is interesting but Ja may chafe under Riley.

It's a chance you take. He needs a team like SA or MIA to straighten him out.
Ja will straighten up his me act for enough time to receive the extension he wants. Toxic player and he's not a leader.

I was wondering what basis they had to suspend him. NBApa is strong, but I guess there was an interaction we didn't see.

I can't see any GM in their right mind trading for this guy who is a head case, injury prone and a bad 3pt shooter who is owed about 127mil for the next 3 years.

There's Vivek off the top rope. Kings don't really have assets aside from their picks, but I could see a Lavine/Schroder/picks trade for Ja/KCP come December 15th.

It would totally be Vivek's MO. And if you were curious, yes it works in the trade checker. With Pippen, Edey, Jerome and Clarke back, the Grizz would probably be a better team too.

Ja's prime is probably gone. Beside his antics hes a pg with no shooting and his athletic abilities seems to be already diminishing. I pity( Memphis) and the team who will trade for him. Dumb player.

dude got up 14 shots on low effort- for context....Scottie Pippen averaged about 13.9 field goal attempts per game over his NBA career (1987–2004). peak years without MJ was 19 a game and 12 a game with rockets lol

ok why does this matter...Ja is the star right so he should take about 20 a game...right...but honestly Ja should be your second option...so either he goes to a team where he is in the 14 shots a game range or he continues to jack up 20 a game in losing efforts....

I really doubt that Memphis would be actually better by taking 30yo LaVine on max contract who's never been even once in his career positive in both on court and on-off net ratings simultaneously.

As much as I agree that perhaps Memphis should've already traded Ja - it's really hard to find a realistic scenario better than 'maybe Morant will figure it out' from MEM's perspective. And Zach LaVine unfortunately isn't a solution here. In this sense, Ja is quite similar to Zion, his trade value is tanked right now.

good pull...Steve never ever took it serious until it was too late and the league was like...."wait he can dunk but doesn't do anything else of value and the dunks still only 2 points..." move on

It's crazy that he's only 26 and his career is nose diving. Just 3 years ago the Memphis Grizzlies looked like the next up and coming team. How quickly things change in the NBA

Lavine wouldn't be the prize to be honest. The Kings picks would be the prize. Lavine has a PO this summer. He could be re-routed somewhere else as a possible expiring contract for someone trying to right-size their books.

But, to your point, I don't see a lot of value for Ja either. And it's pretty much self-inflicted.

It's the beginning of the season and "calling out" your star player for having a bad game is idiotic.

Just move him. Both parties should move on at this point. Memphis sucks anyway, go back to Vancouver.

We haven’t had a career implosion like this in a while, especially without any injuries involved. Unfortunately there’s just not a lot to hold over his head if he’s determined to be a child. Even if he got cut tmw and nobody picked him up, he’s already made $100 million for barely 300 games. Generational wealth for minimal effort.
