I hope CP3 signs with OKC or something.

I like him in a mentor role for Det, Hou, and OKC, among others. I'm curious to see if there will be any interest from the rest of the league or if this is the end of the road for CP3.

He was good for the Spurs last season.
Not great on the court, but he definitely is a culture driver that is good for young players.
I hope he gets to go out on his own terms. I'm not even a big CP3 fan but this is a damn shame the Clippers are discarding him like this. I can't imagine the Clippers are going to do anything significant with that last roster spot anyway, so don't really see much point in releasing him unless he requested it.

They could trade for him though, starting December 15th.

Perhaps we'll get a Bronny for Chris Paul trade.

Seriously though, maybe Maxi Kleber's expiring contract for Brook Lopez and Chris Paul.

Definitely feels like a “both parties at fault” thing.

CP3 seems like a dick and would not be fun to play with. You can be a skilled ****. You can’t be a **** with waning skills and hope to stick around.

The Clippers are also not the model of accountability considering how they let Kawhi do whatever he wants whenever he wants. I can imagine a few Clippers players (past or present) feel the way Paul feels, they just aren’t giant a**holes like Paul and know how to use tact (or not say anything at all).

I'm sure Chris cussed out the locker room but he's also right on every count. Lots of toxic power grabbers in that locker room and FO it seems.

I don't see him resigning with anyone. Lakers don't need him so he'll be buried on the bench butting heads with more guys. I think he just retires.
Chris Paul is a dawg in a locker room full of small minded pups. Coach Lue is to blame.

Chris Paul needs to go to OKC and enjoy time with those young men. In reality, I expect him to go to Houston, or stay home in LA with the Lakers.

Counterpoint: Chris Paul is a dick whose bite is no longer worth his bark. He's outlived his usefulness. (In an NBA sense, he'll be fine coaching his kid's AAU team.)
That's probably correct.
The conclusion is that the Cluppers won't ever win a championship with this roster and Coach Lue.

The report that Lue hasn't spoken to CP3 in "weeks" is pathetic. Dude, you're the head coach. Get in there and work on resolution!

Getting him out of the lockerrom.

Dude is an all-time a**hole. I imagine there's a reason he got booted early.

This.

I've never been a CP fan, there's a reason he jumped around with teams so much. He had a Kobe level attitude without the Kobe level hardware or accolades to back it up.

Talented, sure, but he never did anything of significance in his career outside of put up good stats and berate teammates over missed assignments. If he hadn't calmed that down when he's in year 20 and barely NBA playable anymore... I would have booted him too, even if he was a fan favorite. By this age and this diminished of a skill level, you need to be pivoting to that mentorship nurturing role, not being a Grade A prick to the coaches and teammates because of missed assignments or schemes you don't agree with.

Paul was one of the dirties, floppiest and whiniest players in the NBA to go along with being a complete red ass in the lockerroom.

I could care less the Clippers waived him. He did it too himself, he could have gracefully went off into the sunset on the team he had the longest tenure with, but instead just was acting like he was still 2013 CP3. I'll never understand why people put him in so high regard as one of the Top 3 (for some people GOAT) PGs of all time.

Good riddance.

We don’t really know if he’s an all-time **** or not. So many speculations here. He had previous issues with Harden and the clips suck. Straight up the Clippers deserve their record for trying to buy players and circumvent the salary cap.

I do want CP3 to join OKC, win a championship and retire. Would be nice.

Damn. To each their own. And I get it. But I always viewed him as ultra competitive. Jordan was the same.

So, one of the "complaints" if you want to call it about Lue is that he's not an intense guy, he's more laid back, and that can be good and bad. It can help in many situations, because people don't always need inmyour face intensity, but you need some balance and you need to be able to turn on the intensity as needed.

CP3 is not laid back. If a team is meeting expectations and winning, etc, these kinds of personalities can coexist. If the team is struggling and basically nose diving like the Clippers have been, the leader (in this case Lue) has to also be great at collaboration and conflict management to prevent the personalities from clashing.

Obviously with a report about them not speaking, he's not great at those things, so this is the result.

Going into the season, they obviously expected to be a solid team, and therefore they weren't even mentally prepared to have to address clashes of this degree, but that's has been far from the case.

I mean, how can CP not realize that he was going to a team with Harden, Beal and Kawhi? Not the best at being held accountable.

No idea about the situation with Ty Lue. Things went south very fast

Chris paul being chris paul. Clippers being the clippers. No winners here. Just 2 losers.

Heavy emphasis on the losers.
