somewhat OT: I know this applies to most, if not all sports fans in general, but goddamn do Lakers fans not tolerate any criticism whatsoever of their players

From Shaq to Fisher to Kobe (who is one of my all-time favorite players) to DRussell and now Lonzo.

Even if the criticism is minor and objective, they go to extreme measures to defend anything.
I remember last year after the Russell- Nick young incident I was actually sickened by it, but moreso sickened by Lakers fans defending Russell like he was their step-son. Now that he's off the team? 'we have no place for snitches and 21 year olds with no leadership qualities :P'

come at me fellas :starwars

https://theundefeated.com/features/celtics-jaylen-brown-host-event-2017-nba-summer-league/

NBA players under 21 can’t legally drink or go to nightclubs while in Sin City for Summer League, so Boston Celtics forward Jaylen Brown is bringing some clean fun their way on Monday night.

The second-year player confirmed to The Undefeated that he is hosting “Jaylen Brown’s Welcome to the NBA Night” at an undisclosed location. The goal of the gathering is for selected rookies and young players to bond, meet mentors and exchange ideas. Brown is paying more than $5,000 of his own money for the event, a source told The Undefeated.

“There are a lot of young guys here, and there is nothing to do in Vegas if you’re under 21,” the 20-year-old Brown told The Undefeated. “I just want to do something. Hang out, talk to them. Build relationships. I’m not 21. [Celtics teammate] Jayson [Tatum] is not 20. A lot of the draft picks are young".

Brown has commitments from the top five picks in the 2017 NBA draft to attend his party: Markelle Fultz of the Philadelphia 76ers, Lonzo Ball of the Los Angeles Lakers, Tatum, Phoenix Suns forward Josh Jackson and Sacramento Kings guard De’Aaron Fox, a source said. Other rookies include Orlando Magic forward Jonathan Isaac, Sacramento Kings center Harry Giles and forward Justin Jackson, and Charlotte Hornets guard Malik Monk. The source added that 2017 NBA Rookie of the Year Malcolm Brogdon and forward Thon Maker of the Milwaukee Bucks, Lakers forward Brandon Ingram, Suns forward Marquese Chriss, Denver Nuggets guard Jamal Murray, Dallas Mavericks guard Yogi Ferrell and Kings guard Buddy Hield are expected to attend as well. Chrysa Chin, executive vice president of strategy and development for the National Basketball Players Association (NBPA); Hall of Famer Isiah Thomas, who mentors Brown; and rapper G-Eazy also are expected to be there.

Chriss described Brown’s party as a “big deal.”

“I feel welcomed,” Chriss told The Undefeated. “He’s one of my friends. It’s just showing a leadership role with him reaching out to other players to bring them together for this event. I want to come to it just to hang out, build relationships, talk to people and enjoy myself".

This is pretty awesome. More players should be like Jaylen Brown.

For the national crowd...

I heard that our new arena is sold out to watch via broadcast in Vegas.

That's pretty crazy, on a Monday too.

Wow, that's insane.

I think Lonzo and the Lakers new this too

Just heard the news about Ball and his "injury". What a coward - afraid to look like a bust compared to Fox. So pathetic, Lakers. They better get themselves a decent backup PG that they can use as a scapegoat when they play good teams.

Kenny adds nothing to the commentary other than "got em", "pull up", "dunk that", etc. I love listening to PJ

Everyone blaming Lonzo is ridiculous, when you know it was Magic's desicion. Lonzo probably let the trainer know he was a bit sore and Magic is being overly cautious. If the trainer thinks he can go Magic has to trust him, he hired him cause he thought he was good at his job. Trust him and go sign someone

You should still watch. Kyle Kuzma is about to drop 50 on them.

He's not playing either. Neither is Josh Hart.

Down 2 in Summer League and the franchise is already throwing in the towel. Not a good look.

Lonzo is ducking Fox and everyone knows it. Sad.

Bet he is "hurt" his first game vs Curry too this season, totally coincidentally of course.

Lonzo can't hide from Fox forever. They're in the same division.

I saw people calling him a bust after the last game. This past season the Suns played better offensively and defensively when he was on the floor. Even in their last game yesterday, where a lot of people were complaining about him, and the Suns got dominated, they played best with him on the floor. He was the only starter who played 30+ minutes who didn't have a double digit negative +/-. His was -2. Most of them were like -15 or -17. He plays smart and does a lot of little things...makes good passes.

They park him out at the 3 pt line a bit too much because he can be much more useful than that. The worst part about this Suns summer league team is they have no spacing because Derrick Jones Jr is a horrid shooter, and Josh Jackson isn't great, so your wings can't spread the floor and opposing D's can just crowd the lane most of the time which kills Chriss and Derrick Jones Jr's strength at finishing in the paint.

Lakers might as well go all in with the circus and let LaVar suit up tonight.

Jackson with lazy contests on shots (and defense in general) tonight. Unusual poor defensive activity for him.

Markkanen & Valentine a combined 2/25 FG and 0/18 from 3, good god. That's honestly kinda impressive.

I'm no expert but isn't 7 fouls in 17 minutes a lot against basically non NBA competition...
