Re: Kyrie Trade Discussion Continued
I find it funny that for a fanbase that supposedly wants "nothing to do with Kyrie as a 2-year rental", there's a LOT of selling being done for the advantages of a Suns trade over a Nuggets/different team, now the thread has gone more towards exploring other teams. Looks like Kyrie IS wanted, but they just want to unload their surplus for him. lol!

it's pretty inaccurate and disingenuous to classify the whole Suns fan base to have one position on this or any topic. some want the Suns to trade for him regardless of what it takes, some want him if the price isn't Jackson, some want him for marginal assets, some dont want him at all
Personally i will be happy if we just move on and look to trade Bledsoe and Chandler for whatever without costing any of the better prospects

You're right, I did generalise a bit too much by putting all Suns fans in the 1 basket. But it seems it's gone from "you can keep him (Kyrie), you're not getting Josh Jackson (which surprises me from the ANGLE that Kyrie is a known quantity, Jackson is not) just a few pages ago, to "why would you take that Denver rubbish", and instead offering the Suns off-casts for a top 20 player in the league and 1 of the best 1-on-1 players/"closers" in the game today. You're well within your rights to declare players "off-limits" as a fan, and to stick with the process of youth developing together. But then when you (not you personally) come back with "offers" of guys we HAVE seen on the court, and for the most part are failures, and rubbish other team's deals, it looks silly. Just my opinion. I remember when the Love deal happened, I was thinking similar, that "Love wanted out, you're hands are tied." Then when Wolves fans said you can't have him without giving up Wiggins, I thought, "ok, if you want Wiggins, we should get Dieng back to balance it out. Wiggins is gonna be the next big thing! Love's just gonna be a third cog here." Turns out I was wrong. We gave up Wiggins, didn't get Dieng, and I can't argue with the result: we won a championship. No Kyrie isn't elevating your squad to championship status, that's a given. But sooner or later young players have to start winning, both for their own confidence, team cohesion and to keep the dollars rolling in for the owners. This last point, dollars, is a bigger part than we fans like to admit, because we're not writing the cheques.

I don't know why one gets panned at every mention yet the next is a great deal.
I don't understand how anyone would consider the 2nd over the first.
Bledsoe is an infinitely better player than Chandler. Bender and Murry are basically two non factors until next season, even if Murry is the better player the advantage Bledsoe has over Chandler is massive. And the Miami pick will most likely be better than the Denver pick.
It's also hilarious that the guy who **** on Bledsoe for his injury history would prefer Wilson Chandler, who as recently as 2016 missed whole season due to a hip surgery and had other seasons in his career where he played 8, 21, 35 and 43 games and he's 2 years older than Bledsoe and has a worse contract.
Murray/Harris + DEN 1st vs Warren/Chriss/Bender + MIA 1st is close and I can understand why someone would prefer Denver's package, but Bledsoe is 2 tiers above Chandler, especially for the Cavs who would need a point guard much more than a forward.
That doesn't seem very close at all

Some teams don't play these games and will even say the word untouchable, but when those claims are made than they are simply stating that they are only somewhat interested if there is a fire sale bargain which would not require them to make said sacrifices. That takes them out of the game when the big dogs show up anyway.
I feel that the fact that the assumption is that KI will be moved has lead a lot of teams with a little interest to place certain names out there as untouchable, but in reality they have no shot of getting KI without changing their position, but they don't care because they were not that interested anyway unless it was a fleecing.
You don't know if that is true at all. Complete guess at this point.

It would be so toxic for the locker room if Kyrie stays on the squad. Unless he comes out and says he doesn't want to be traded.
Still I would demand a big haul if I'm the Cavs. They will get better offers after December 15th and trade deadline.

The Cavs fired their coach, mid-season, despite having the No. 1 record in the East. LBJ disrespected Blatt for a season and half. They can handle a bad locker-room situation.

i dont disagree with much of what you wrote, none of us know what the trade will be if and when it happens and i will venture to guess there will be fans of both teams whichever teams it is that are happy and unhappy with the trade, and bottom line none of us have any direct say in it, it's silly for any of us to declare who is off limits or who we would accept like it matters.. i'm just stating what i hope happens and hope reports who the Suns wont include in this trade proposal are true and accurate

The Cavs can be a god-awful, back-stabbing, cluster**** of a soap opera for 2/3rds of the season, it won't matter because they're in the East. All they have to do is stay in the top bracket, and wait for the NBA to put the word "playoff" in front of the word "game"...voila! Likely Finals chew toy.

A rift between the star player and an unseasoned HC is much different than that of the two star players. Not saying they can't make it work, but it's a completely different dynamic.

There is NO way this will go on past the end of August, and actually the longer it goes on, the more I think the trade will involve the Clippers. Clippers got a few players from Houston that can't be traded with other players until 8/27. One of them is Beverly, who would be a perfect fit on the Cavs, and really the type of player they need (tough defensive first player who can hit a jumper), with a cheap contract for 2 years. Add Jordan and Shumpert from Cavs and you have a simple trade. Clippers always looking for star power, and there has been talk of a Paul for Irving trade in recent years.

The biggest factor in teams' hesitation to deal for Irving is his refusal to commit long-term.

If they want to win this season, Beverley + DeAndre is such a nasty swap. I can't describe how ideal this starting lineup is for James and, coincidentally, Love.
Beverley / Rose / Calderon
Smith / Korver
LeBron / Green / Osman
Love / Frye / Jefferson
DeAndre / Tristan Thompson
That is lethal.
That said, I think it would be prudent to move Tristan Thompson. He can't share the court with DeAndre and he'll only get so many minutes under those circumstances. Also, it doesn't net the Cavaliers a prospect and I find it unlikely for that reason (not that I agree).
