Bogdanovic should be shooting more than 10 shots, Ingles, one of the best 3pt shooters should be attempting more than 4 total field goals.
Mitchell shoots the team out of rhythm. He is their best player but he thinks he is better than he really is.
He's still working his way back to pre-injury form. They're going to give him a little latitude.
Memphis is doing a great job sticking with the shooters. That is why Donovan has to do so much one on one.

We were getting stifled hard on the three point line until Bojan went off in the second half that game. They were denying hard
Now with Mitchell driving consistently and doing his thing, they can't deny the perimeter as well and they have to help and collapse inside, which opens up the offense for Bojan, Ingles and Conley
Mitchell is a "ball hog" (lol) because he has gravity with the ball. Teams key in on him and it helps generate wide open threes
Dude put up 30 and 8 off 22 shots and these nerds still feel the need to criticize his game

He had 30 pts and 8 asts in his 3rd game back. He can do better, but he's out there to put pressure on the defense and make plays. Quin wants him with the ball in his hands, playing downhill, forcing the defense to react.

It's cliche but you guys are playing some great basketball. Seems more like Memphis playing up to the comp than Utah playing downMemphisX wrote:As a Grizzlies fan, I am very satisfied with how this series has gone.
Both teams are hooping. You love to see it
Memphis is not a team I'd want to see in the playoffs next year. 100%

He has a habit of getting in the 3pt shooter's space.

With suck ass players like Mitchell and Gobert (at least according to the GB geniuses), it's amazing the Jazz made the playoffs at all!

It’s like magic. All our players are trash, all our fans are awful, and yet the Utah Jazz win games.
The guy from the other day had it straight. The Illuminati NBA has a vested interest in promoting a franchise that has a history of driving massive viewership

Random thought but technically, if you squint and look at Mitchell and you see Jordan Clarkson, somehow the bricking is easier to swallowPhreak50 wrote:Mitchell shoots too much. Have said it numerous times but it'll be the team's downfall.

Completely agree. They are more efficient than him, and allowing them a few more shots would also make his game more efficient. He is a star of that team, but since he does not get recognized as a real star of the league he is doing to much to prove that he is, which is detrimental to their chances of success.

Re: WC | Rd. 1| (1) Jazz vs (8) Grizzlies [3-1]
The first 6 minutes of the 4th Q, all jazz points came from Mitchel FTs. Thats why memphis got close in the scoreboard, actually, without that lifeline from the refs, we would have gotten in front of them and take advantage of the momentum, however, it didnt happen.
Its funny how some jazz fans still criticise MItchell game. From a fan in a rival team, thats one player you would never want to meet in a PO game. He is the only player who can create his own shoot, put DB in foul trouble and actually, we dont have an answer for him. Beside him, no one in the jazz roster can create without a Gobert moving screen.
I got to admit, i never thought they would keep up scoring that bunch of threes, So far, they are doing it great so congratulations and good luck for the rest of the playoffs. As long as it works for em, they will have a chance. Most teams in the west nowadays plays like that. (suns, blazzers, mavs, nuggets) So you only need to do it slightly better than them.

Yea but last year they were missing bojan and went up against a third seed. Better circumstances this year for sure.

And missing Conley for two games. Might of been a sweep otherwise.SF_Warriors wrote:Catchall wrote:Just a reminder: The Jazz were up 3-1 last year, too.

Re: WC | Rd. 1| (1) Jazz vs (8) Grizzlies [3-1]
Grizz held Jazz to 3 FG's made 4th Q, 2 3's by Conley, 1 by Bojan for 9pts. 11 of their 20 4th Q pts came on the FT line. (11-12).
Jazz didn't make a FG 4th Q till Conley made his first of 2 3's at the 5:08 mark of the 4th.
The steal & 3 was his & Jazz 2nd made FG at the 3:24 mark which took the game from possibly being a 2pt game to opening a 7pt lead.
Memphis earned a chance but poorly executed down the stretch & it cost them.
Congrats to Jazz, Conley & their fans on going up 3-1.
Credit to the young Memphis squad, Jazz have not been playing poorly by any means averaging 17-20 3's in their last 3 wins.

The Jazz are actually almost exactly at their regular season averages for both the number of 3s(16.7 vs 16.8) and 3pFG%(38.9% vs 41.1%).
Contrary to popular belief the Jazz actually don't have trouble creating good looks in the playoffs. Last year we had one of the better offensive performances in the series against the Nuggets and the year prior we were actually creating more and better 3p shots than the Rockets and more and better shots than our regular season averages. We just couldn't hit them. I guess it's the ultimate encapsulation the the phrase "make or miss league". I think I will be pretty confident the Jazz will be able to create good shots against most teams... the only question is whether they will hit enough of them.
The good thing about shooting a lot of 3s though is that the samples become big pretty quickly and the outlier games with freaky high or freaky low % are relatively rare. For example, if you cut out the 3 outliers at each side (over the 72 regular season games sample) the lowest %s in the bad shooting games is 29% and the highest % is 51%... we pretty much never shoot super low% or super high% exactly because we shoot tons of them which decreases the variance. For the Grizzlies the same numbers would be 22% and 50%. Just much wider range of outcomes because of the lower number of 3s they shoot... and lower % they shoot.

Jazz are looking like seasoned playoff veterans with few mistakes while the Grizzlies are showing their youthful inexperience with key poor decisions.
Organization can be defined as an organized body of people with a particular purpose. Not random.

Jazz are a Spurs-type team that plays Moreyball.
